Just curious as to why they're ignorant? Are you asking the right questions and providing all the details. A lot of these shops get guys calling about how they want to turbo their car, stroke the motor, "build it up", etc when these guys often don't have a clue about what they want or how expensive it really is. I'm not saying your wrong, but give some examples as to why they're ignorant.

Cobb is a well respected in other auto communties and they've got my respect because they don't sell things that don't work. They've admitted that even their own prototype G/Z intakes don't do squat for these cars and actually hurt performance and the same goes for all the other aftermarket intakes they've tested on these cars. That gains my respect when a company actually tests their owns products and reports that they don't work therefore they won't offer the part.

how do the stock auto tranny's do with that kinda power? are the 6MTs known to be able to handle more vs the auto, or vice-versa?

Very nice..

Why the hell is this taking so long to get done. This should be a 1 to 2 day job, I would be pissed.

Bwt your car is going to sound amazing. I would grab a pair of crawford Headers.

The only thing limiting 6mts is your choice of clutch.

I'd have to say not very long. When you add 100-130wtq, it's going to tax a tranny, especially the auto. HP isn't the issue, it's the torque. If I were to add a turbo to my car, I'd use a small one that has no lag and would give me around 300-320whp/wtq. Then I'd have the 5AT rebuilt with the components (bands, clutches, etc) from the Titan/Armada 5AT, which is the same tranny, just heavier duty and can handle that type of load. Everyone says, "get a valvebody", which is absolutely silly because the VB has nothing to do with increasing the strength of the tranny.

The 6MT is pretty strong. The issue is the clutch. In order to hold 300whp+ for the long term, you're going to have to deal a heavy, quick catching, and loud tranny.

cool, I'm sure your tranny will be just fine imo. I would just get the fluid changed more often and limit any brake torquing.

Can you run a stall speed torque converter for your tranny?

can you add a tranny-fluid cooler to the 5AT?

thanks for the post (you too VQhotness)

My buddy has an R32 Skyline GTS-T and his clutch sounds exactly like what you are describing; basically an on-off switch, it's hard to get used to but after a while its not so bad.

anyone on here know a DIY for clutch install? I'd hate to pay someone $1000 to install a $300 part (if that)

Where from? Who has it?

Also, has this guy said how much it cost yet for the sts kit? What mods were necessary to the kit? (I only see one for the 350z on their site).
