Is there a dyno run that started at a lower rpm? Like 2000 or 2500rpm? Peak numbers are great but the system looks really laggy as can be expected. Then again, laggy boost is much better than no boost at all.

Good job doing something different.

Not sure how that dyno worked, I havent been to that one before. I wasnt present when he dynoed it either. Im sure it was my lag lol it does have lag becuase that is one looooooooooong straight pipe under my car lol

I believe the 3000+ rpm dyno run is a function of his being an auto. It shouldn't be that laggy as I think the STS turbos use a smaller sized turbo to fight lag.

Doesn't look like much lag to me. The torque curve seems pretty strong. I'm sure from 2000-3500rpms it's about the same. The power looks nice and progressive.

Just to be clear I was asking out of curiosity not being mean spirited or critical.

It's not making full bost at peak torque or it would have at least the equivalent TQ as HP. These systems are always laggy. I was just curious to see how/when theyproduced boost on a VQ35.

Too bad the dyno didn't record the boost signal.

IMHO, you can't really generalize like that. From the dyno sheets I've seen for the STS powered Zs, they are building boost fine. It's about sizing the turbo correctly. Put two ginormous turbos on a TT setup and see what happens. Lag city

That's fine. If you are that curious, go on the Z forum and dig up the dynos on the MT powered Zs with the STS system. The dynos should drop down lower and give you a good idea of what these are capable of down low. Like I said, I believe the STS turbos are sized smaller to combat lag.

Here is a dyno sheet for a 350Z STS at 11psi. So it looks like it makes full boost at 3400-3500rpm which is fine for WOT driving.

STS while less than optimal seems to work fine on high HP n/a engines.

Everyone seems to be impressed with that dyno sheet in that thread. Almost 400 hp from a single turbo. Don't know how it compares to a traditional single setup though.

Powerlab's single turbo setup is claiming 400hp at 8 psi with full boost at around 3400 rpm.

So while the psi levels are a tad less on the PL system, the full post rpm is about the same. They might also be running a larger turbo too as it seems this turbo has more ultimate hp potential. But again, it's about turbo selection and hp goals.

The last problem was found and fixed. The SH!TTTTTY brand new Walbro pump had a leak so once that was fixed my fuel pressure went right up and my A/F ratio is great now. I AM LOVING IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
