Is my car Slow?

I just bought a 2005 G35 and have a feeling that it is not fast and powerful enough for a 280 hp car, if I turn off VDC and floor it from stop position, I expect 270 Lb-FT to spin the tires and make some smoke but using all season tires I am not able to spin the tires at all unless its raining. my car is automatic and I find it slugish at many situations, my dealer says if there is no warning light on, they can't do anything about it. is it me expecting too much from my car or there is really something wrong with my car? are the wheels supposed to spin if you floor it from stopped?

why do you want to spin the tires?

I'm shocked that you can't but, for me personally, I'd rather hook up perfectly every time. With the 6MT I need to feather it gently so as to not spin.

you're expecting too much from a luxury sports car...it's not made for that purpose....

you want raw power without all the goodies, go get a neon SRT-4

I don't want to spin the tires, I only look at it as a powerful engine evidence. I can't measure 0-60 (at least without a helper) so I thought spinning the tires will be a good point to compare engine power.

even though you cut the vdc off it still has a touch of it on. take the vdc off and hit a corner hard and slam on the gas.

Come on now, you have to be kidding me, people like him should just not be allowed to own a G...

Dont get me wrong, would love to smoke out my tires, but it just makes me laugh when people post like this.

I HAVE NEVER SMOKED MY TIRES... not because my car cant, but i understand why i bought my car. if i wanted to drive it like an idiot i would have gotten an civic si, and hooked it up.

Also All Season tires do not allow you car to smoke as well as summer tires...

Good luck, I hope you dont do something stupid.

I dont mean to be an AHOLE, but dont post stuff that sounds THIS DUMB!!

(smoking out is not a way to compare power, i rented a v6 mustang, and it smoked for days, but thats ALL it could do... )

Sorry for the mini rant...
