Question how to run fan in recirculation mode WITHOUT A/C??

How do you run the fan in recirculation mode without activating the A/C?

turn the temperature up, the A/C system won't activate the compressor if you set the inside temp around the same as the outside temp.

Isn't that what you want in this situation? Why else would you want the A/C off?

A little perspective: about 5 years ago, I turned on the A/C, set the temp on 70, and haven't really messed with it since then. When it's cold outside, it blows nice warm 70 degree air. When it's hot outside, it blows nice cold 70 degree air. What's the problem with that?

he just wants to re-circulate the air... for instance, it smells like **** outside and you dont want the smell of the fumes from the bus in front of you or the tar truck... it's not uncommon to drive with fan only and without AC.

You can't

You have to smell the f'in crap from outside.........my biggest beef for this car(among many). A friggin pinto & vega will let you recirc without A/C. You'll have people here tell you that the compressor isn't running and that it's to keep humidity control in the vehicle, but lift your hood and take a look..........it's running.

Gotcha. Sorry that's a weird concept to me... turning off the AC is only possible Dec thru Feb. It's required the other 9 months around here.

Pssshhh, come on man, if the A/C was *always* running, you'd be seeing every G35 owner in here posting about how their A/C quit working after a year or two of ownership. Of course if you look at it, there's a belt running it 100% of the time, but there's also an electric clutch in there that only engages the compressor when it's needed (it's genius, I know).

In the three months that I've owned the car I haven't attempted running recirc, but its pretty disapointing to know that you can't do it without the AC running. Especially if it smells like **** outside and you don't want to waste additional fuel running the AC.
