Your engine is going to break unless if you use the special "Redline" motor oil... Should've done it like Rich Boy and just throw it in D.

Dude, please do some search. not to sound like a ***** but your car is not made of tin foil, it's not going to harm anything redlining for few seconds. Wouldn't you think that nissan engineers would have thought about this before they made the car? I'm sure they're not gonna 'allow' the car to actually do something that isn't very safe. Driving around town bouncing off the rev limiter? sure that's terrible but you're good no need to worry.

THe G engine has a rev limiter which cuts the fuel supply momentarily at max redline, which prevents damage.

MT cars are the only ones that can potentially cause a mechanical over rev.
AT cars = non-issue.

Actually, you all have no idea what you are talking about! The car is probably ruined and you may just need to go buy a new one. this happened to me and my dealer told me not to risk it and to just get a 2008 Sedan. These guys really knew what they were talking about at the dealership. The new car fixed everything.

^right..
the only things a dealership knows is to sell you a car.

OP. you'll be alright.
