Stuck in a rut. Really need everyones help picking rims!

Well I finally lowered my G35x on H&R sports. After blacking out my trim, grille headlights emblems etc, the only thing left are the wheels. Currently I'm sitting on stock 17s. Time for them to go.

The problem is I have about $1500 max to spend (including tires). I only want to buy black rims or rims that I could still have enough left over to powdercoat. $1500 seems like a lot but it doesn't go far on these boards. A lot of ballers rolling on Volks and Works, and I don't have the 2-3k for that ish.

I have really considered the 19 rays for being cost effective and light, but I think I'll kick myself for getting them because theyre OEM, and I really want to be different looking.

Suggestions on decent wheels and tires? Buying new seems impossible. So I guess used is the way I will have to go

Thanks to anyone that can lend a suggestion! I've been looking for months with no success and I am so ready for a change!

Mike

Save for a while or go Rays plus spacers. I understand wanting to be different and all, but like you said they are great stockers.

Good luck

you don't need to spend 5k on wheels to get shoes you could potentially enjoy. there are a lot of us that can't justify spending that much and find alternatives, such as myself.

i got my wheels for 1400 cash, new w/ potenzas.

if you want lightweight, forged, 2 or 3 piece, expect to pay a grip. if you can pass on those things, get cheaper wheels or look in the marketplace for used wheels.

There are probably some guys round here selling some used wheels for a decent price. Just keep cruising the boards and find the set that fits your taste and budget.

I'm actually the opposite. I'd rather run the OEM Ray's wheels because I'm not a huge fan of "tuner" rims. I am about the pickiest **** out there when it comes to non-OEM wheels and i'd say 95% of them don't really appeal to me. The ones that do are usually $$$$

I actually think the OEM 19's are a sexy rim. Always did when i first test drove an '05 G35 coupe back in 2005.

take a look at the MRR GT5s, I got them and love them. Picked em up for 1800 with tires from rxmotors, but you could probably do better.

21.2 lbs each according to nissan. Should do it, those in satin black would look great.

Yeah same weight as the 19 stockers. Seriously considering those. Hopefully I can get a deal on some good tires and powdercoating! I think I might have an ebay coupon too.
