Are you driving are hauling the car? If hauling and you're afraid of stones and pebbles scarring your paint, buy a cheap car cover (<$30), if driving, get a clear bra. Actually, I'm not sure I understand the question.

yes, blue tape works great, and comes off clean, unless it rains. still comes off, just more of a pain

Use the tape. It'll protect it, can't mar your paint, and comes off clean. If you're worried about durability, cover the blue tape with duct tape for even more protection and durability.

Sorry, let me elaborate: i am planning a road trip to vegas and i was wondering what is the best 'frugal' method in protecting my car for the trip.

the best method is just don't follow too close behind anyone.

Vegas really isn't that far and taping up your car is a lot of work for such a short trip. Don't even get me started on how much of a b!tch it can be sometimes to take the tape off...

Go to a dealership and seeing if they'll give you that throw-away, white covering they use on new cars when being transported. It goes on easily and comes off as one huge sheet. You can cut out the lights and holes for the radiator easily. It can rain and won't peel off. Just be sure and clean your car extremely well before putting it on. Cost= $0!

^^good idea!!^^

i will say though, the painter's tape works GREAT. I've found the green 3m stuff to be the most durable!

LOL I fap in the wind every time I look at my car

I agree about the leather bra thing though. Unless you plan to NEVER take it off, I wouldn't use one.

The "cheapest" will be to get a clear stretch the one for cooking and on top you can put the blue or the green tape, even the duck tape.
