Air intake between 3
K&N short ram cold air intake

Do you think exhaust headers will be worth it and what brand?
Complete tune up also with ignition coils which brand ignition coils do you guys generally buy?
Intake - save yourself some money and go with a K&N panel filter and Z-tube. It flows as well as anything. You can get a rev-up air box for a bit more volume too, but that can come later.
Intake manifold - I don't think you need the 5/16 spacer if you get the Kinetix V+. It's already that much taller iirc.
Headers are a lot of work with very little gain. If you don't plan on going FI, I wouldn't bother.
I also wouldn't bother with the HFCs. I researched them for awhile and never found any great opinions as far as how well they work. Its either art pipes or stock cats. I personally think its irresponsible to run no cats, so I run them. Just getting a good cat back helps free up some HP and let's it rev faster.
Also, I don't think there are any performance aftermarket coil packs.
Def go with a "Rev Up" air box (if you don't already have one, and a good filter. I tried K&N, it works good. I bought a Z tube then a NISMO CAI (long tube) and it was all a waste of money (except for the sound!) Right now I'm running it as a short tube to keep the water out. The mice ate my by pass valve!
If you have a Rev Up motor, def go for the MREV2, It is the ONLY thing that made a real "butt dyno" difference.

Your advice is horrible. Thank you for trying though!

Tex knows whats up with the intakes. I had a Nismo CAI before as well, and I went back to the factory revup box with K&N filter since the Nismo made my car feel less drivable. I swapped that out for the JWT system, misplaced the factory airbox shortly after, and regretted that mistake ever since.
Skip the Kinetix V+ unless you are going boost. It's not going to make more power than the spacer. In fact, you'll lose power if you use it with a stock na motor. The plenum spacer does not make power by increasing volume, rather it smooths the flow of air to distribute it more evenly to all the cylinders, so the fact that the Kinetix V+ is bigger means absolutely nothing. The "copper iso" is a kit that comes with the spacer - it's definitely worth the money since the iso part of it is an isothermal plate that keeps your intake plenums cool. Get the MREV 2 if you have an 05+ manual transmission since that is a 15 lbs torque gain, which is a lot for that little amount of money.
HFCs and test pipes are always going to be the biggest bang for the buck and are great for power since you are taking the largest bottleneck out of the exhaust system. You will see much better gains if you get your ECU reflashed with it. This is the only combo that will give you something around10+ hp by itself without boost involved. The downside to these is that since these VQ motors create a lot of heat, crappy welds will not last long so that rules out using the cheap ebay options, and even the good quality products will wear out over shorter periods as well.
Headers are a pain to install and don't make a noticeable improvement by themselves. They sound nice though. If you want a more throaty, muscle car sound when you step on the gas, then by all means, get yourself some headers. But if you want headers for performance, find yourself a nice set of long tube race headers. Yes, they do eliminate the cats, and they will work better than any headers plus HFC or test tube combo.
IMHO, the best mod you can do for any car is a tune, period.
I'm too lazy to make that many edits. The Kinetix won't come with the isothermal plate, but I think that is something Motordyne sells separately as well and is definitely worth adding.

Ha! I like how my advice was "horrible" and you don't even know what manifold you're talking about. You gave the same advice I did with the exception of you talking about the wrong manifold and you advocating HFCs which (like I said) I think is irresponsible. Thanks for trying tho.
Does anyone know of a exhaust system besides Borla and Stillen for the sedans?
It seems like everything else is discontinued and the only hope is to get it used..
And if that's the case..
Bola or Stillen based on a performance point of view?
I havent been able to find any dynos for the borla system on the sedan. Currently I'm leaning on the Stillen at the moment but I'm afraid it might sound be too close to stock, but this will be resolved with ART pipes after I guess.
I think the Tanabe is still being manufactured but not completely sure. Check with one our vendors. Also the Stillen is considerably louder than stock and will get even louder with the ARTs.
I've had the Borla on my sedan for years and it's far from stock sound, My wife hates it. It is quieter than the Stillen but not stock and I have been very happy with it. I never dyno'd it after installing so I can say what the HP gain was.

That's what I like to hear! Hopefully you're also referencing to the gen 2's as well.
Only thing is whether it's justifiable to drop almost $1300 on it since the canadian conversion rate to USD is garbage right now. That's why I had the borla in consideration as well.
Hey everyone, I'm new to these forums and just took ownership of an '06 V35 sedan and I'm looking for advice on what modifications I should begin with.
I was thinking maybe I should start with the exterior. Open to suggestions.

looks good
Keep searching around tons of info to get you started
Exterior looks fine as it is. Cocaine white make's it really stand out.
Maybe get some wheels if you dont like the OEM style. Personally I love the 7 spokers. And maybe throw in a trunk lip, or duck bill. Whatever the heck you call them.
