Simple bolt ons doesn't really get you that much power.. the VQ engine is already pushing a lot of hp in NA form.. if you want real power.. for turbo or supercharger.. if you can't afford it.. then spend the money on something else.. because simple bolt on equipments will give you negligible power.

Z-tube, drop in K&N, intake spacer. Lower to desired ride height, pick a nice set of wheels and tint the windows.

Then just enjoy it

There is no such thing as chipping these cars. You can reflash or get a stand alone. Plenum spacer and high flow cats/art pipes are the best bang for your buck

I have a 2005 and I want to install a cold air intake. What would be the best performance one to get? I also need it be legal to pass California smog check. Suggestions?

Welcome, search the forum & read others opinions. Many suggest CAI will hurt performance. I have a stillen CAI with a z tube. it will block out some of the heat that the others may not.

I feel better throttle response and the sound is much better.

One of the forum members had a stillen/z tube combo for a pretty good price.

K&N drop in filter is your best option.

Add rev up back half of air box. Keep everything else stock including filter or go with dry flow. Just my opinion as I don't like oiled filters combined with mass air flow sensors.
