How reliable are these cars? Possibly looking to buy one.

Been thinking about getting a new (to me) sporty, 4 sedan. Been looking at the 03-06 sedans since I cant afford the newer models and much less the g37. Are these cars reliable for the most part? Im not looking to do many go fast engine mods but an intake and mild exhaust isnt out of the question. I may do some suspension mods and get a nice set of wheels though. Anyway I've been looking at the auto's since they are the only ones local and in my price range. Mileage is around 60-75k for the cars ive been looking at. Just wanting to know if there's anything I should keep and eye out for at this mileage or any particular year with more problems than another. I was once interested in the Lincoln LS until I found out the MANY problems that car had in the early years and still many up to the final model in 06. Dont want a car like that. Need something that's not going to give me trouble. Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

05 and newer IMHO...

Just bought my 05 diamond graphite automatic sedan with sport suspension for 15K with only 40K miles from a local Infinity dealer.

Very smooth car and very few (if any) problems, they are reliable to see the least.

Like I've said before though.. you will succumb to mod fever. I've had the car less than 2 months and already spent $3K on stillen intake, stillen gen2 cat-back exhaust and double din navigation/radio.

Bigger less problematic brakes, nicer rear lights, and more...

Don't know how much you paid for your car so don't know how much more I paid but I'm sure I'm not the only one who prefer the 05+.

Still just stating my opinion

I like the grid tails, don't think I'd upgrade unless the other ones were free.

None of the years have any major problems, 05+ 6MTs tend to eat oil but that doesn;t matter as your looking for an AT.

There are lost of guys on here past 100 miles and their cars are still running very strong. You shouldn't have any problems.

Floppy, you spent $3000 on an intake exhaust and double din???

155, you're kinda right. You will probably spend another $5000 just because it is slightly newer. Even with less miles the 2003s will be worth a little less and still run as long)

Iv noticed most sedans seem to run in the same price bracket, regardless of year, with a SLGIHT increase nudge to the 05+.

iId get the 05. I like the newer style..

WOW! That's a great deal coming from an Infiniti dealer. I just picked up my 05 6MT with 50k for 15k.
Pardon for the minor thread jack, but how do you like your stillen gen2?

Like the other guys said, the only problem with the G's is the oil consumption, but if you're looking at an AT, you'll be ok.

Good luck with your new G! I love mine!

And then if it has NAV, look for another $2K or so on top of that...even if you can get a $150 garmin to do the same thing.

I hated suction cup navs so i went for a NAVI model. Yeah i know i paid for it but i don't care, my criteria as the time was fully loaded '06 with under 25K miles...and that's what I bought

As for mods...i've only done tint. My ipod interface is still sitting in the box from February! I'm too damn busy. Anyone want to install it for me??

for the most part my 05 has been trouble free. I had to do my brakes and my wheel bearin in front was done when I bought it from the dealer (under warranty). I do burn oil a little bit in mine and im at 88,000 miles in my Auto/AWD.. All thats done to mine is tint and clear sidemarkers. Go for the 05/06!

2005-2006 G35 sedan.
I can't really think of any problems I've ever had with my G35 sedan other than I keep spending so much time detailing her and so much money modding her.
If you can somehow vaccinate yourself against the contagious mod-bug... get it. Unless you don't mind spending money modding your ride.

love all models, especially the 05 and 06's, but still do not know why the 03's and 04's sedans came with the pointless gray side sills and underbody. to this very day i am asking what infiniti was thinking.

bottom line, you will get the mod bug regardless of the year.

Agree on 05/06, though I love my old-school '03.
