trunk release

I have a few electrical problems on my G35 sedan. The trunk release sometimes doesn't work when I press the interior release or on the key fob. If I put the key back in and turn the ignition both will work. Of course when I go to the dealer they can't duplicate same. Let me know if any of you guys have experienced this problem. Your help would be appreciated.

Re: trunk release

The key fobs are not the best period...doors, trunk...the only thing that always works great is the damn panic button. lol

If the trunk release on your dash does not work than you have a legitimate problem.

Re: trunk release

I have not had one problem with my keyfob, I actually like that you have to hold the trunk release down for it to open, my last car the damn trunk release was way too sensitive, I'd come out sometimes and the damned trunk would be popped, geez! Not with the G!

Re: trunk release

When I put my aftermarket alarm, I actually had the installer disconnect the line to the trunk from inside the trunk, that way, people can't get to my sub/amp/changer. The only thing that opens my trunk right now is the Viper 2way remote, which I find to be a damn good replacement for the OEM FOB.

Re: trunk release

I too have encountered this problem once before. I'm not too sure what caused it, but neither the key fob nor the interior release would open my trunk. I too just put the key in and turned it to the on position, then back off. That seemed to reset the situation and then everything worked just fine. Never have come across this issue again [so far at least].

Re: trunk release

double check the disable switch in the glove box and make sure it is on. If it's turned off then obviously the the trunk release isn't going to work.

Re: trunk release

I thought of that Shodog, but after reading that they could open it after a while or by resetting things by turning the car off and on, I figured it couldn't be that easy.

I just don't feel the range is anything to write home about with these key fobs...my 0ld 2000 Maxima and my wife's 2002 was and is a lot better.

Re: trunk release

I too did the double check on the glove box switch. When I ran into my problem, my first thought was, "How did I accidently hit that switch?". None the less, it has only happened once, so I have no idea what the problem is / was...
