the purpose of the letter is to inform you of possible problems with the radiator fan motors. Its not a recall. So instead they are just extending the warranty to 96 months/100K miles on the fan motors themselves.

 

I got my letter today,I will be watching the temperature a little more..It also says in the letter your car will go into "limp Mode" limiting vehicle speed.A sure sign if you look down and your cars overheating..

Samster - yes, pretty much (I'm in that boat too, over 100k). I'm thinking it would have happened by now. I too got a letter in the mail today.

 

After reading this and just now checked my mail. Guess what I got? Lol

 

No letter yet for me.

 

No letter for me, already had the stupid fans replaced under warranty last year. Its some funny stuff when your car overheats in 55 degree weather.... lol

 

Mine came yesterday. Guess I'll keep an eye on the fans.

on a side note....Nissan/Infiniti must be steppin' up their game with the warranty coverage. My dad recently got a notice from Nissan about his Murano stating they are extending the powertrain warranty to 10 years/120K! I hope that letter comes next.

 

i got two letters! lol one for my Z ( no longer have ) and then one for my coupe but the nissan one came in first and it took about a month if not longer for my infiniti one to come in.

 

glad this does not apply to my G
