Finally got my notice...

apparently its not a very common problem - it states something to the effect that very limited number of cars experience this problems and the its not likely that I will - but they are expending warranty to 96 mo 100K.

So far they have extended door rust and rad fans... too bad they wont send a notice for the valve covers

got my notice last week.

I already had the extended warranty, so this really did not change anything for me.

iirc the letter states "some" 04-06... which would be e-fan but doesn't mean all e-fans are susceptible. Possibly they had a bad batch of motors - its probably impossible for them to determine exactly which cars have the bad motors so they send the letter to everyone.

That's my presumption.

Recently had it fixed...

I recieved my letter last week and sure enough once I got the letter, I noticed the car running hot. I just picked the car up from the dealer yesterday. They came to the conclusion that it was the radiator fan. But it's still overheating!! What else could it be? I have to take it back now and try and figure it out. Does anybody know if there is any simple solutions that I could just do myself. I gotta drive to Vegas tomorrow.

I'm sure you & they already considered the obvious (thermostat) right?

Good to know they're "manning up" to long term issues with the G

now if they would step up on crappy front brakes and control arm bushings!!

they stepped up pretty big on the brakes... 36mo/36K mile (or something like that) free replacement for pads and rotors - I had mine replaced twice... but obviously they cant replace them free forever.

As for the lower control arm (transverse link) bushing, I dont think its as big an issue as the compression rod bushing (which they will cover under warranty - they have a TSB on it).

radiator

the dealer just called me and told me that there is a clog in the radiator which is the reason why the replaced fan is not keeping the car cool. i am having to replace the radiator now. UGH! they suggested to replace the thermostat too, i can't remember what term he used to explain why it was a good idea to replace the thermostat but either way it's going to cost me almost a grand to fix now.

"clogged radiator"? clogged with what

if it were me, I'd replace the stat and see if it still overheats... or just test the ts
