Radiator Fan Motor notice from Infiniti

Anybody get a warranty notice in the mail from Infiniti regarding the radiator fan motors becoming in-operable? On some 2004-2006 G35 sedans, the radiator fan motor may become in-operable, which may cause the engine coolant temperature to rise. This only affects a limited number of vehicles.

They are extending the warranty on the motor to 96 months/100K miles. It also states if you have had your radiator fan motor replaced due to a failure, you can be reinbursed through Infiniti. I wasnt aware the motors had issues, so thought I'd pass it along.

well you must be one of the "limited number of Vehicles"

That's great with the extension of the warranty though.

I received the notice too and I was also unaware about the "radiator fan motor becoming in-operable".

edit: Read the part about extending the warranty again. It says nothing about the motor itself but instead just the radiator.

I didn't get a notice. Don't know if that's good or bad.

Got my letter a couple days ago. 06 6MT coupe, purchased used 1.5yrs ago. Haven't really heard of too many people talking about radiator fan motor failures. Kudos to Infiniti though. I was shocked to see the letter.

I believe your DMV, the dealer, or someone along the chain has to notify the manufacture of your ownership in case of recalls.

Just had to replace BOTH fan motors on my '04 Coupe, with less than 60,000 miles. Car overheated right in front of the dealer. Cost $750 to replace them both.

Thanks for the heads-up Radioguy

It's interesting that Infiniti released notice before the problem hit this forum (I have never seen/heard of this issue either) - usually issues are posted here way before Infiniti ever addresses it.

Does anyone know the vin series of cars affected?

was that covered under warranty? It says at the bottom of the letter, if you had the motor replaced due to a failure you may be eligible for reimbursement.

It didnt specifiy any VINs, just "some 2004-2006 G35 Sedans". They probably just had a bad batch of motors and dont know who got what.
