Based on what I had read here on the forum, at just around 60k miles I talked to my local service writer(lived in the Bay area at the time) about my concerns regarding the valve cover leakage problem (and the fact that the warranty will be expired when the plugs are finally changed and the problem detected) and he explained to me that I need to bring the car in and say that "I smell oil burning under the hood and believe it to be in the vicinity of the valve covers/spark plug boots".

Based on this, they replaced plugs/valve cover gaskets and a few other related items all under warranty.

I have alot of stories similar to this one across multiple makes/models where I was able to get out in front of known issues and the dealer worked with me to resolve before they became problems.

Can someone take a high-res photo of the letter than attach it to a post so the rest of us can download? Since my car is paid off, I fear that my wife probably threw the letter from Infiniti away thinking it was yet another uninformed marketing attempt to "remind me that service is due" (you guys know the letter: "Hey, our records show that you are due for a 65K mile summer coolant service")

I'm curious to learn how they determined which models were affected, and why it only affects the sedan since the cars were close to identical in the first gen (mechanical/parts wise).

They must of had a bad fan supplier.
