Tire question for G35x owners
Tire question for G35x owners
Anyone out there running 225/55 R 17 tires on their G35x?
I know the stock tires are 215/55 R 17 but the ones (Goodyear Eagle RS-A) that come stock are not that great.
Thinking about getting the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S for my G35x but the closest size is 225/55 R 17. Just wondering if anyone out there is running this size on their car and if they have any comments.

Re: Tire question for G35x owners
I think a better fit for the 17" wheels is the 235/50/17. That's the size Pilot Sport A/S I'm running. Almost identical in diameter to the stock 215/55/17.

Re: Tire question for G35x owners
do the 235's bulge out? i know the 215 gives it a narrow look. wondering if 235 would bulge out. i've seen guys run wider tires on their rims and they normally have that bulge look. i'm trying to keep things "non-bulge"
thanks.

No bulge. Here are my Pilot Sport A/S 235s.

Gordgee,
I am also looking at the A/S's for my G35x. Do you happen to have any pics from the back of your car, I'm wondering how much wider these tires are than the Goodyear's?
Also, do you notice a big difference in the A/s's and if so what are the differences?
Sorry for all the questions, I want to be sire it's worth the investment.

Re: Tire question for G35x owners
I don't have the x, but I am running Yokohamas 225s on my sedan. I really don't notice any difference from my original GSDs. The tire does have a slight "bulge", but you don't really notice it. The bulge might actually be a good thing, as it will help prevent scraps on your rims. I think you would be good with either 225 or 235 tires...

The A/Ss are only slightly wider, but noticeably so from stock. The performance difference is like dayand night from the RSAs that came with the car.
Excellent dry traction, superb wet. Even with 4" of snow on the ground, they worked better than any A/S tire I've ever driven (up here in Edmonton, I'd still run winter rubber however). It's great to know that with those first and last snow falls of the season, I won't have to rush to change over!
A better tire in every way and I highly recommend them. Only issue I have is with the price, but they seem to be wearing well, so I'm hoping they'll last.
Sorry I don't have a pic from the rear.
