Nope, should be done every 60K. Since it's an AWD, you'll want to do the front and rear differentials every 30K, and the transmission and transfer case every 60K. FSM says it only needs to be inspected, but fluid replacement is better.

Transmission: Nissan Matic S (don't use anything else)
Transfer Case: Nissan Matic D (don't use anything else)
Differentials: 75W-90 or 80W-90 Gear oil, preferable synthetic. Many use Amsoil Gear Oil (80W-90) or Amsoil Severe Gear Oil (75W-90).

Two questions:

How much should that run me to get it done by a mechanic?

Should i only bring my car to an infinity dealership to get it fixed (ripped off'd)?

sorry for the noob questions.

Thanks

Clayton

you can do the differentials yourself

make sure you take the filler plug out first

then take out drain plug.

re insert drain plug, use a pump to insert new fluid in the fill plug.

re insert plug

the differential fluid is pretty cheap

if you dont have the tools to do it, a shop shouldn't charge much to do it

Don't know about the cost, but you don't need to go to Infiniti to have it serviced. If you don't want to do it yourself, get a quote from someone to just do the labor and you buy/supply the fluids so you know they're using the correct stuff and there isn't any markup on them. I was going to have a local place do my last oil change because I didn't feel like crawling under my car in mid-winter, and they said $20 if I brought in my own oil (which I'd already purchased). We got a warm spell (38-ish) so I just did it myself.

You haven't replaced the transmission or differential fluids? Or your engine coolant? Yikes!! (Note to self, do not buy any used cars from jayflyxx).

The engine coolant should be replaced every 60K per the maintenance schedule. And while that schedule also says that the tranny/diff/transfer case only needs to be inspected every 30K, it's pretty foolish to go over 100K without any replacement. You may be running fine now, but you've probably shortened the life of your transmission by a significant amount. Many people here change the diff fluid every 30K and the transmission every 60K. I plan on keeping my car for many years, so that's the schedule I'm going to maintain.

Hope your car is paid off, because when that transmission goes, it's gonna be a costly repair.

my car gets serviced by Infiniti per the owners manual schedule. I am only 1,000 miles over on my big maintenance which will be done in March. My G now is sitting until then unless it snows as I use my 97 Accord. Everything is changed and has been changed as it should be.

OK, I retract my buying statement. Just a little concerned because of some people I've known who never changed certain fluids and then wondered why their transmission was gone at about your mileage. Good to hear you're not like that.
