Please help noise is driving me up the wall!
My 03 sedan recently started makin a very loud "spinning" type. Noise. It sounds like something is rubbing against the wheel. As i accelerate the noise gets extremely loud. The steering wheel also tends to shake but as i go faster the shaking gets more serious. I checked to see if anything was rubbing and i could not locate the problem. Its sooo anooyin and eextremely loud. Does any1 here have an idea of what this could be?
thank you guys so much i really appreciate this. im gnna look into all the options postedabove.

i did not drop the car. and the noise comes when i accelerate. i did however take the wheel off a couple of days ago. the passenger side and thats where the noise is coming from. its amazing how u guys can diagnose problems right here on the spot by a brief description.
Yea, whenever you remove a wheel you wanna make sure u torque all the lugnuts down as tight as possible when reinstalling. push the wheel up against the rotor and use one of the nuts to hold it in place. Start the nuts by hand so there's no cross-threading. If done correctly the wheel should be perfectly flush on it's mount. Let us know if this is the fix for your problem mate.
could be a wheel bearing going out. They start out as a whirring sound.
Also, could be a brake caliper sticking...in which case the easiest way to know is to feel the middle of the wheel on the center cap. It will be much hotter than the rest of the wheels if your caliper is sticking.
