Well, seems I can't even edit my post because this forum has a bug. Anyways, I didn't mean to call you a idiot, just tired of the bs I am reading in this thread.

Re: G35s vs. 330i
Guys I found this on the latest C&D
I know most of us might not agree with this but I think
a G35 5AT vs 330i AT will be even but the 6MT will have the edge.

Re: G35s vs. 330i
IMO the 330i and G35 are roughly equal in acceleration. BMW is well known for under-rating their engines and their driveline is very efficient (stock dynos on e46.com show over 200HP at the wheels). Another area for consideration is the "area under the curve" in terms of power they put down to the road. BMW I6s have very flat torque curves which make them feel faster than they might really be.
Specs in a magazine are tough to judge by - track conditions, the way they launch the car, etc. all can add up to some major discrepancies. In the real world, I would say that it will come down to the driver in most cases.
The 330i is a fantastic car, but is priced about 6k too high.

Re: G35s vs. 330i
Just because I disagree with the people talking about ownage of the 330i, I deserve to be banned. Because I state that your egos are impairing your common thought processes, I deserver to be banned?
Even according to R&T the 330i is .1 second faster. Now granted, the testing circumstances have a factor of error and I still do believe the G is slightly faster, but that just plain proves that no car is OWNING another car here; one is only fractionally faster.
Some of you seriously need to grow up!!!

Re: G35s vs. 330i
The performance package for the 330 (I believe the ordering code is "ZHP" so you'll sometimes hear it called that) includes an additional 10HP (235 total), a short throw 6-speed, an M front fascia, different interior trim (alcantara, which is like suede, and a carbon fiber look trim), revised suspension, 18" wheels, and I think that is about everything. You can now get it on the 330Ci too (in addition to the 330i).
Overall, a good package - my personal opinion is that the gearbox is the best addition. It makes up for the (IMO) stock lackluster manual gearbox in 330s.

G35 sedan 5AT
3336 lbs
260hp
6.2s 0-60mph, 14.7s(1/4m) (R&T)
330i sedan
3285 lbs
225(235)hp
6.1s 0-60mph, 14.7s(1/4m) (R&T)
I am not sure how 330i can be faster with almost the same weight (only 51lbs advantage) but 35(25)lbs less hp

You're still an [censored] and you still don't know dick about cars. When are you gonna get off your momma's tit and move out on your own? When you do, I suggest you NOT get internet service wherever you move and spare the rest of us the pain of dealing with you every day.

I guess this proves that even G35 owners aren't all that different from Civic owners..probably former owners hahaha...

Re: G35s vs. 330i
A race between a 330i and G35 sedan, regardless of tranny, is going to be very close. The G35 has a higher HP rating, but it's a well known that German horses are stronger than Japanese horses. The fact is BMW is rates their motors with only a 5-10% powertrain loss, not the 18-20% most Nissan/Infiniti models suffer from. Motor Trend has gotten 14.4s out of the both the 330i sedan manual and 330iX AWD.
If I had the choice, I'd instantly take the BMW 330i over a G35 sedan. It's such a nicer car and is reknowned by the automotive world as one of the elite and "must haves".
96 Maxima SE
14.40@97mph, 2.20 60 foot. Best mph 99mph.
JDM intake manifold, JWT ECU, Y-pipe, CAI, 2K Maxima muffler

It's a "me-too" car, that's all. You're talking about a car that costs $6K to $8K more than the G for zero, if not a negative advantage. Plus you don't even have either one. Thanks for your input, but no thanks. Better save your money for that 330i.

Re: G35s vs. 330i
FYI, an almost fully loaded 330i is about the same price- BMW's sticker could be misleading sometimes - as the G sedan. So the question is if they are about the same price, which one would you get? That's Y I immediately jumped on my 330 zhp deal when I found out the G coupe is after all overpriced with mark up and not enough bells and whistles to justify Infiniti dealerships' greediness. Performace wise, it will be a close match between G coupe and Zhp. For those who do not believe a 3 series could be had for thousands below "invoice" not just sticker in CA, go to any bimmer forums and read about the amzing deals ppl have been getting lately or since last year. That said, I do not regret buying my G in the first place, though I do feel the pricing is a tad higher compared to the ZHP I just ordered and CLK my brother just bought two weeks ago. To me, to g or not or to 330 or not all depend on your personal preference. Believe it or not, G and 3 series are very similar in many respects.
