Anyone knows if a stock G35 sedan 5AT race a stock 330i automatic who will win. assuming both are 2003

G35 will always have the upper hand when compared equally against each other , like G35 Vs. 330i both autos, or manual G35 will win based on driver ability in manuals and same with the coupes!

I think I saw a comparison in MT or some other mag before the 6MT sedan even came out and the 5AT had better specs than a 6MT BMW330... almost positive of that

G35 have a better power band down low to mid but 330i has more usuable power from mid to high. If you only race for 0-60 & 1/4 miles then G35 will usually comes out on top but in real life of highway races once you go beyond 100mph then you'll start seeing 330i catching up to you and passing you eventually.

Well, it better catch up before his speed limiter kicks in. After 100mph, It would boil down to who have the bigger ***** to stay on the gas, up to their max speed limit. I am not so sure a 330i would pass a G after 100. Not condoning street racing. But, twice a 330i had it's a$$ handed to him on the highway by my stock G.

Umm bs. Sorry the 330 is no where near as fast as a G35. Even on the top end. The only chance the 330 has is 0-60 thats it.

If there is a car the G owns its a 300i in any variety at any speed from start or roll. The 330 will never catch up or gain ground or even be ahead..it will only get worse as time goes on in any race.

The 330 mt gearing is waaay slower on the top end. Don't believe me? Take a look at the gearing and the 0-100 and 0-120 times. They are significantly slower than an auto G even. That is also why they are almost equal to the G to 60 and fall off when reaching the higher end. In fact, the IS300 which is dog slow, gives the 330 competition on the highway (many discussion of this on IS300.net).

Cliffnotes = G35 is faster, both low and high end.

I was in reality comparing G35S 5AT vs. 330i sedan AT not the MTs.
I guess the consensus here is that G35 most of the time will beat 330i (this may be biased opinion especailly on this forum though : ))

Anyway the reason I actually asked is I know someone who owns a 330i so I wanted to know if it comes to it how my stock G will fare, the 330i is stock too. The other reason is in C&D review of G35 when the voted it #1 above the 325 they mentioned the main reason was 325 was under-powered and if it was 330i they may have voted for 330i instead because of the engine and performance.
Based on that I assumed that 330i is faster than G35.

I am sure almost all of us here have seen that article in on form or another.

The 330 is slower but would probably take the comparo because it is simply a better car. It compromises less for giving you almost the same speed and is almost as good in terms of handling. The only advantage the G35 has is handling at the limits however, it is much more harsh than a 330 and the other amenities don't quite match up either (such as panache and interior quality). With that said, if you want the faster car, the G is it.

The 330i's bill of materials is nicer, it's a nicer overall car, but the G35 wins on value. This is my opinion of course! If the 330i was the same price, majority of G35 owners would probably have a 330i.

Please stop saying the G35 owns the 330i, that's just not the case. It is a smudge faster, and I don't know how that means it owns the 330? You guys are really insecure about your purchase if you resort to saying something like that. The G35 owns a Hummer H2, it's quicker then a RSX Type-S, and it's about the same speed as a 330i. Alternatively, the G35 gets beat by an EVO and gets owned by a Z06.

It takes a serious amount of additional power for ownage to take place; get your facts straight.
