Squealing noise....
Hi, I have a 2006 sport sedan 6MT.
There's been a squealing noise from the front of the car for a while. Seems to be there no matter if its hot or cold outside or wet, etc. The noise is usually consistent from when the car is started to shut off, even on longer drive.
To me, it sounds like belts, but I'm not sure. What belts does this car have? Just a couple of drive belts or something more / different?
Any recommendations on what to replace these belts (or other parts) with?
Thanks!

from what i have heard in my other car i had, its probably belts. it has 2 belts which u can see if u lift up your hood. buy them from riverside infiniti they sell em for like 36 bucks the pair... but first verify the problem is coming from the belts
Open the hood, pop your head in and check the tension on the belts. The belt tension should be tight with zero slack. If your belt(s) are loose, and are still in good shape, you can tighten the slack on the belt. There may be a DIY on how to do that. There is a long adjustment screw attached to one or more pulleys that you use to remedy the squealing.

2 belts - 1 narrower belt for A/C compressor, 1 wider belt for alternator and power steering pump. If the squealing starts or worsens when you turn on the A/C, then the A/C compressor belt is the one to tighten or replace depending on condition. If not, then it's *probably* the other belt.
Also, be careful not to overtighten the tensioner pulley adjustment bolt past its limits of travel. It is made of some pretty soft metal and will bend easily, rendering it useless. Ask me how I know! If you have to adjust it that far, then the belt is probably stretched too much and needs to be replaced even if it looks good.

I have had a engine squeal for a few months. The interesting thing is that is does not squeal in "park", but once my G gets shifted into "reverse" or/then "drive" the squeal begins. The dealership said that it needed to go on the diagnostic machine for $125 to find my G's problem. BS. I am sure that they know what the problem is, but want to stick me for a few extra $$$. Thoughts???
BTW, just had my first brake job done last week. My G has 51K and the weird thing was that the rears were in need of replacement. The guys at Goodyear Gemini said that the fronts were still in great shape.

I have a squealing problem now. As you rev up the engine it gets louder. Sound like it's coming from the pulleys. Sound almost like a loose belt but not as loud. Haven't change the belts since 35k as now it is at almost 80. Any advice is appreciated. thanks.
