I would check for you on mines but i left someone borrow my laptop/scantool.

But shouldn't we have a ECT that controls fans and not the T-stat. A T-Stat should just control flow and switch on/off the fans. Unless the G35 is running a different setup from other cars. Most coolant fans are switched on by a signal from a ECT.

^I'm talking about the physical, mechanical thermostat that controls the flow of coolant.

The older ones like mine have a 180deg, the newer ones with efans have 170. If I set my e fans to come on at the same temp as a newer one, but didn't change the thermostat, they would just run all the time.

I could set them at a higher temp like many have, but I would prefer running the lower temp thermostat like the newer models do.

^I'm there. But that doesn't address the lower temp thermostat.

Edit-- Check post #5

if he was running the 180* and set it at 188-190 and you are running the 170* i'd shoot for 178-180

Tonight I was coming back from my friends house and I had a CD that i found while cleaning out our house that my sister made me back in the day. Lots of great 90s pop and stuff, and I was just jammin' in the G. Felt so good to do that and listening to music that we listened to back in the 90s. Good bonding moment with my G. I took it down the freeway a few miles just so I could keep listening to the CD..

I really do love my car...

I've always wanted to get my hands on some G37 19" sport wheels but they sure are heavy. Since I have an X, I'd either be getting 4 front or 4 rear (I know I can just wrap them in the same tire but I rather be on the safe side.)

The fronts are 26.5lbs and the rears 27.5. What kind of difference should I expect in terms of handling from switching from the stock 17s? For now the rest of the car is stock, hoping to get some hotchikis goodies when they finished developing sways for the X.

Newbie owner 04 G35X with questions

I'm new to the forum and this car but make regular posts on MO, Genvibe and 9thGenCorolla. Please forgive me for being lazy, however it's been my experience with most forums, specially when new to them, it's a pain finding answers to simple questions. So Please bare with me and thanks for your help.

Has anyone had issues switching from Dino to Synthetic in these engines (mine has 65K miles). What's the best weight for the South region (Oklahoma)?

Has anyone had issues switching from Dino to Synthetic in the Transfer case or Diff? What is the best weight? (AMSoil will be my choice of brand)

How often should the Transmission be serviced? And again I plan on going to a synthetic (AMSoil).

What are the major repair issues these car have? I believe we still have 2 months on the drivetrain warranty so I need a heads up there.

Thanks for your Help!

WTF... 26.5lbs.... them be boat anchors! Me thinks stock 17's should be 22-24lbs each. I'm normally against going with OEM wheels because there are always better options out there and you can resell non-oem wheels faster/better. But the OEM BBS, ray's and other forged wheels are the only exception

Any body noticed that you never see Ferraris in any of the Need for Speed games, why is that? Random questions pondering the mysteries of life. The new Hot Pursuit has a lot of G35s in it though, feel kinda bad when I accidentaly crash into one playing the game.

Plenty of guys run synthetic engine oil without issue. You shouldnt have any issue either. I personally run conventional for my own reasons

As formrest ofmdriveline, I run all synthetics in mine without issue. Mobil 1 ATF in transfer case and mobil 1 75w-140 in the front and rear differentials.

As for trans, I do a 4 quart drain and fill every 20k miles. I use the recommended Nissan s-matic fluid.

Common driveline failures.....wheel bearings. Make sure yours are good. The fronts are notorious for failing on an x, even under 100k miles. Fronts are pricey...rears not so much.

Thanks for the info. Wheel bearing issues, well that might explain the vibration at highway speeds. Will check the wheel balance first.

Also does the OC test affect this car? Been reading it on this site and seems to be a concern.

dirty engine bay

Engine bay is a little dirty and wanted to spray it down with the hose. I do this with my old cars and it's fine, but they have a lot less electronics in them. Bad idea or okay with 06 sedan?

Need for Speed 3 (Hot Pursuit) had the:

Ferrari 550 Maranello
and Ferrari 456M GT

Need for Speed High Stakes had an F50 and a 550, and again the cover:

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2 had Ferrari's F50, 550 and 360

For Need for Speed SHIFT you could get:
Ferrari 430 Scuderia
Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano
Ferrari California
Ferrari F430 Challenge
Ferrari F430 GTC
Ferrari F430 Spider
Ferrari F50 GT

I was about to respond to Jake's comment when: This message has been deleted by CandlestickPark. Reason: This thread is for random questions related to your car, not your *********...LOL
