I've been using it for years - no brown slime.

Its amazing how many and how fast internet paranoia spreads... Google AK corrosive ammo and read another all the bogus hypersensitivity... interestingly I've shot Yugo surplus known to be corrosive and haven't had any problems.

I have found it to better to get first hand recommendations or personal experience rather than the "if its on the internet it must be true" rule... its also amazing how many people recite issues yet they have nothing by way of having the problem itself.

Try opening the breather bolt, draining the coolant, and with the beather bolt open, attach a water hose to the fill valve(low pressure) and see if you can't get water or any blockages to come out. If not, you may need to replace the heater core.

The problem you're having where the car gets hot when stopped happened to me in my old Honda. I too saw coolant leaking on top of the radiator and replaced it. Turned out there was a second leak in a pipe under the engine bay and my fans had stopped turning.

I dont know where you got that idea... Water Wetter is designed to be used with coolant... in street cars... no brown slime, no blown up motor, no end of world.

You can stop internet myths now.

 

^ There are plenty of people who got the brown slime, not going risk my radiator being clogged up, if your cooling system is operating normally, you do not need that additive, period.

 

if you daily drive the car, it will operate normally... but lets face it - the car doesnt "need" anything after driving it off the dealer lot.

Track your G stock and see how many things you do "need".

But that's all moot... I responded to the "it's for race cars" post.... and the interesting thing about "plenty of people have brown slime" is that many more do not. Now - if everyone that used water wetter had brown slime, there might be something to the myth... the fact that everyone does not, indicates there are other variables.

It's similar to the myth "dont touch your throttle body butterfly plate, you'll ruin it" - couldnt be farther from the truth - have "some" people ruined their TB? Yes. Has everyone? No (I've don it boatloads of times)... so there is clearly something beside just moving the plate that's causing problems (90% of the time its that they didnt unplug battery and actuator). This is the case with water wetter too.

Use it or not, no one cares but the owner of the car... but to make statements as absolute is irresponsible.

yep. We're part of the many, many, many that have not had problems. It's amazing when the minority of users have a problem how broad the internet myths spread about not using something or doing something...

No one bothers to mention all those threads "on Google search" regardng a problem have a bunch of people saying they dont have problems (just like this thread).

all it takes is a few mentions and people start repeating as if they've experienced it... that's one bad thing about internet forums - way too many people repeat stuff they've read (and have no first hand).
