Random Little Question Thread
#6572
I have several questions so bare with me. First off, is a 4 wire o2 sensor the same thing as a wideband o2 sensor? Next is where is the best place to get a wide band o2 sensor for my car? Next how hard are they to install and will it throw a CEL? Im wanting to run a fuel/air guage and was to.d narrow band was not accurate enough. Im trying to get everything together and prepped for a nitrous system and i know you really need the air/fuel guage, and a fuel pressure guage, but the pressure guage shouldnt be hard. Thanks in advance. I think i know the answer to these just want to be sure im right.

Ok, so my resonator in my midpipe collapsed. Now I face the decision of fixing or replacing. Always wanted the Borla or Stillen. Do I take a chance of putting a universal resonator on a Megan catback or buy a new exhaust. New Megan is $495. New Borla i've found for under $800. Should I just spend the extra $300?

No. You can't identify the difference by number of wires.
4 wires signifies that it's a Heated O2 sensor. Unless you're dealing with an older car, you'll always see 4 wires to the O2's.
Stock O2 sensors are Narrowband

This depends on the SAFC/UTEC you get. Diferent widebands output different signal referances/types and they're not all compatible with different units.
Google.

Man I'm glad my A/C is good.
NSFP, any headway on that measurement?
Thanks to Chris (Papa) in >THIS< thread I'm now aware of what the SPC spacers do, and I"ll be installing them before the month is out to help broaden the adjustment range.
Also he enlightened me that the SPC are able to adjust the caster by re-clocking the washer under the balljoint.
SPC just won pretty much all my suspension business as far as it goes due to this thoughtfulness.

IMO it's just a midpipe, just cut out the resonator and weld a pipe. It doesn't make too much of a difference, depending on what you already have. Just a tad louder. Or just put a universal resonator....or find a midpipe on the forums. You won't pay more than 80 bucks for a coupe midpipe.

After G35_papa showed me that video and more deets I'm personally good either way, but still quite curious about it.
Would be nice if the guys can just grab a 350Z upper arm rather than dishing out for the SPC with moderate drops.

^ rotors can be found anywhere.
I consider rotors a throw away item. You can go with centrics,
something like that, or some of these guys spend some coin on brembo blanks off tirerack.
I personally always opted for the cheapest name brand out there, most cases it would be centric's CTEK line, raybesto, EBC. Never had issues unless i reuse them with a 2nd set of pads.
