Smart remote insert key

What is the purpose of the insert key in the smart remote for the 06+ models. I have an 04 g and swapped to the smart remote. I would like to cut the key to operate the ignition.....door. Does this key need programming?

Just my opinion, seems like people pay it, so dunno. But these are brakes that are 08-10 years old now. I think it's kind of silly to spend that kind of coin on them. Again, Just MY opinion on it.

After reading this i don't want it anymore lol. I know its your opinion, but it makes a lot of sense since an 03-07 ne w brembo are 1400 with rotors

Do I have HID headlights

This may be a dumb question, but I am a truck guy and new to actually doing anything with cars newer than the 50s. I was wondering if the box indicated by the red arrow means that I have HID lights on my car? I was looking to replace the headlights and saw 2 options. One halogen and one HID. Obviously the HID is much more expensive and I was wanting to confirm what I have before I pull the trigger and buy a set.

Thanks,
Chad

Thats the headlight fluid regulator, dont touch it its very sensitive.

Haha, yes that looks like an HID ballast. IE you have HID headlights.

That's my thoughts. You're only saving MAYBE $300-400, and then you need to spend $250+ on rotors and pads.

And you're still running a used setup, it's silly. I just got Akebono's with 14" drilled/slotted rotors, good pads, Stainless lines, caliper adapters, etc, all BRAND new for under $1700

Same goes for the superchargers, you can buy a new V2/V3 Tuner kit for $3800. Most guys price them out at $3000-4500 and you have no idea of that units history, more often than not, these items have been through multiple members already!

If you need a full kit used is a great place to find a bargain on the SC though.
