What part is wrong the diff. Cover or the fluid? I was told the cover was a direct fit on my diff and would help keep it cooler. As far as the fluid I know I will be changing it with the cover but have no idea what's best.

Look, here's the thing.
Yes, you can put a fancy diff cover on. Sure you can put race-grade, high-performance fluid...

but at the end of the day, the only performance difference you're going to see is a "weight reduction" in your bank account.
If you already have the diff cover, you're not hurting anything installing it, but you're not helping anything either (other than forcing yourself to replace the fluid as part of regular maintenance)

If you're thinking about spending extra though, there are plenty of better places to spend a few extra $.
For example, replace your one-wheel-wonder rear end with an OEM VLSD out of a 350Z. Then, you're actually accomplishing something.

Forget the 350Z vlsd - get a Quaife, Carbonetics, ATS Carbon, or Cisco lsd instead.

While I can't completely discredit the aesthetics of the undercarriage, functionality is more important.

In other words, it doesn't really matter how good the undercarriage looks if it's crappy. It's like putting those fake bbk covers on stock calipers. Just poser/wannabe/ricer.

Then, according to NSFP, you might as well leave her OEM instead of doing a bunch of exploratory "surgery" down under. Cheaper, and she'll still look and ride fine.

NOTE: I realize now that Caelric is not the person who wanted to change his rear differential.
