Hey guys I recently just noticed that my steering wheel shakes a lot when I'm driving around 65-80 mph. At lower speeds it is completely fine. It never shook before when I was driving in higher speeds and now it has. Anyone know the problem??

Also I drive from denver to grand junction a lot and there are a lot of steep hills. When I brake my cars starts to shake also. I recently replaced my brakes and that stopped the shaking for a couple months and now it's starting again! Help my car please!

Did you replace the rotors also? Have you checked your wheel bearing?

I assume you ruled out tires as a cause?

Tires are in good condition. I'll take it to a shop since my iq on brakes, rotors and stuff are very low haha

R1 Concepts makes a pretty good rotor and sells them for a fair price

Nope... Not without changing the hood, headlights and modifying the fenders....

Have you ruled out alignment as a cause? Or even wheel balance?

Good cheap rotors at brake performance.com. I think that's the website. American made and I use em for w.e. Not tracking of course but its fine for everything else.

Sorry forgot to elaborate. Steering wheel shake should be alignment and wheel balance related. Braking can still be those mentioned above as well as rotors.

I'm pretty sure that my rotors are warped because my steering wheel and whole car shakes... If I replace my rotors do I have to get new brake pads as well?

I suggest taking it to an O'reilly first and seeing if they can resurface them on a lathe. It's worth a shot IMO

[QUOTE=jeggo;6887241]Anyone know what part is this? Pretty sure it's a resistor for something. It started vibrating earlier. It's not doing it now but I'm just wondering what it is and why it vibrated so bad. I could hear it from inside the car.

That little black 'box' is the ballast for your HID headlights.

I need an opinion on these coilovers here

http://www.neo-motorsport.com/makes/...id=213&type=gt

A place near me is selling them for $750 without dampening and $1000 with dampening.

Any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!

Bump - still hoping for any help, ideally with the part name or something more i can research for this.

I have an '06X without nav so my antenna is the little circle button on the roof near the front windshield, no shark fin or anything, just a black circle. The black plastic on the top half cracked at some point and half of it is now off exposing the metal magnet/antenna beneath it. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or not when it comes to water hitting it, but either way it looks bad seeing the metal and like a green ring or whatever else the antenna has where its normally covered up.

What would be the name of the part there so I can look for a replacement and has anyone changed theirs before? That magnet is crazy strong so Im not sure how much work it would be to take the whole thing off so that I could replace both halves of the plastic or if I'd be better just fixing the upper half. Or a third option if its all one unit, I can get the entire plastic covered magnet/antenna and just plug my cord into the new unit.

I assume it would be a simple job as long as I had the parts and wouldn't need to bother with a dealer fixing it, but if someone has experience dealing with theirs, Id appreciate the insight.
