New Car

I am 17 and I am buying my first car in the spring when the snow melts and, you guessed it, its going to be a 2003 infiniti g35 sedan.
I would like to know what engine mods would be the cheapest yet give me the most power. Also I was thinking of putting in a sound system in it when i get it but was wondering how good the stock system was because it may just be a waste of money.

My grandpa has one and he lets me drive it somtimes and I love it but that is good advice.

Motordyne 5/16 spacer is regarded as the best bang for the buck.. The bose system was the longest I've ever put up with a stock system, I thought it was pretty good. But after a little over a year I upgraded to a front stage only with components, sub, good amps, you'll have to see what you think..

Get on that "search" button. Your not going to get any impressive engine mods without deep pockets and the sound system is mediocre.

Yeah, if you really want more power, the only "bang-for-buck" you'll feel is forced induction.

Sound system... come on over the to the A/V forum, plenty of ideas to be pulled there, however, I suspect your first mod will be to replace a failing factory radio.

Welcome, do plenum spacer and high flow cats, and definitely get a dash kit to get a double din headunit a good set of component speakers for the front, a new amp, some subs and another amp for the subs

Why a 2003? I personally like the 05+ better; nicer interior, nicer exterior, a bit more power, etc.

I think the bose sounds great IMO. Apparently mine is louder and hits harder then others. Dunno.

I wouldn't worry about power mods. You're 17. Enjoy the fact that you have a nice car. Learn and get to know the car then slowly mod it to your liking
