VPP?

What exactly does VPP stand for and what are the benefits? I read posts where people talk about it all the time and I am curious.

Vehicle Purchase Program. Its no-haggle pricing available for friends and family of Nissan/Infiniti employees, and also available to some large companies.

Basically, if you don't know what it stands for, you don't qualify, eh?

Re: VPP?

Actually, you may work for a company that is eligible for the VPP discount and not even know it. Here's the VPP website ( www.insidenissan.com ) and here's an 800 number (800-299-4753) you can call to find out if your company is eligible (basically your company has to have some sort of 'supplier' relationship with Nissan or Infiniti). If you're eligible, it's an awesome discount that you could rarely negotiate on your own.

Re: VPP?

One more comment on VPP...even if you're not eligible. There's a thread running on a freshalloy.com forum you should read ( forums.freshalloy.com/ubbthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=UBB25&Number=67361556&page =0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&fpart=1#Post67364162 ). Apparently, there's a dealer in Dallas who is selling Gs at VPP prices.

Re: VPP?

The deal is 2.5% over invoice. I think Nissan kicks in the another 2.5% so it's not that bad a deal for the dealer either (with the exception of cars that usually sell at MSRP like the G). They have to show you the invoice as well. If you check the thread mentioned above the vehicle mentioned is equipped exactly like my G sedan. The price quoted is what I paid. Easy deal and saves a lot of benjamins.

Re: VPP?

You are a lucky man then. Must have been some original incentives to the dealer then if they were willing to go that low. From the insidenissan website:

The Offer

Through the Vehicle Purchase Program (VPP), NNA and affiliate employees pay a pre-negotiated price for a Nissan or Infiniti vehicle: dealer invoice less any applicable incentives, plus a destination and handling charge and, if applicable, an advertising assessment fee. NNA would pay the dealer the entire delivery fee equivalent to 5 percent of the dealer net price.

For NNA and Affiliate employee sponsored friends and extended family members, the VPP price is the same as above, plus delivery fee equivalent to 2.5% of dealer net price. NNA would pay the dealer an additional delivery fee of 2.5% of dealer net price.

Any dealer-installed accessories, registration fees, title fees, and taxes are added to the VPP price to determine the total cost of your purchase.

When a dealership sells a vehicle to you at the pre-negotiated price indicated above, it qualifies for a 5 percent delivery fee paid by Nissan North America, Inc. Please note that only dealerships in the continental United States and Alaska are eligible to participate in the VPP.
