I sent the info on disconnecting the battery and resetting the ECU to the guy that's working on it. I also went through all the manuals that kyemaul sent a link to. It has a manual for the AT and describes the reasons it goes into fail-safe mode and hopefully that will help determine the issue. I also looked and the area that I connected the wire to was the Fuse Block - Junction Box and from the way it looks it would be from either connection M4 or M5. I'm trying to go through the wire diagrams and figure out what I connected to but the only red/blue wire connects to the supplemental restraint system. If this helps anybody let me know. I'm going to continue to do research and read through the manuals and have the tech do the same. If anybody has any more ideas please let me know. I'll give an update if I find anything more out.

I wanted to give an update to this issue. The car is currently at the Infiniti dealership because the transmission shop I had it at couldn't figure out the problem. They pulled the code U1000 from the car which if I believe is a CAN communication error code. Any thoughts on what I could be looking at? The guys at the tranny shop had tested all the wires and couldn't figure out what was causing it and couldn't communicate with the TCM. I had the car towed to this show about an hour and half ago so I'm waiting to hear from them what they say.

i think its all electrical, some wire is crossed somewhere. Reason transmission was fine before you played around with the wires. After that the tranny started to act up. I think infiniti is going to charge you big bucks!!! and Make you replace trans and still problem then change around the wires and tell you it was the tranny!!! Good luck keep us posted

dealership says its the tranny... says the fluid is burned even though the tranny shop i had it at prior said it wasn't and the dealership said theres metal shavings in the pan... they tested the TCM and said they got no codes from it and that the ground and power to it were fine... no clue where I'm going from here but we'll see... I'll keep posting
