Replacing shocks/struts - other parts to replace?

Just bought a set of Tokico blues and was wondering what your experiences were with replacing other components like mounts, rubber seats etc. are. Easy to justify replacing about everything on a car that is 8 years old/123k miles but curious if anyone has enough experience on our cars to recommend things that commonly or seemingly never need to be replaced. I have an 03 sedan. Thanks!

I am kinda confused as to what you are asking. Are you asking what people's experiences are with replacing parts that usually dont need replacing? Or are you asking what other parts should you replace when you replace your shocks and struts?

Since you'll be removing the struts, might as well replace the lca bushings. My inner ones were shot w/ 100K miles one the car. I went with the Energy suspension front kit.

Absolutely bushings. Tighten the whole package up. It'll drive so much better after 100K plus on the stocks.

I am asking what other components normally would/should be replaced. I haven't heard of anyone replacing any other parts so is everything else just reused? I thought it was obvious what I was getting at but I guess not - my bad.

Should have mentioned I will be doing compression rod bushings at the same time.

don't forget the strut mount plates and upper shock mounts on the rear end. The rebuild kit for reat shocks is about ~15 for each side at Advance. The strut mounts are ~35 each. About 100 more bucks but will improve NVH and give you some of that 'new' back.

Yeah that is pretty much exactly what I decided to do, that and a couple spring seats for the struts. BTW, Advance is sold out *nationally* of both those mount kits - I was quite amazed. Ordered from PartsGeek instead. RockAuto wanted to split the order into 2 separate shipments with 2 separate shippers (?), which made the shipping pretty bad.

Really looking forward to the improvements in ride.

Actually it wasn't obvious what you were getting at, hence the reason I asked. I'm not trying to be an ***, but your first post was nothing more than a run on sentence with a few contradicting thoughts scattered within. I had an idea of what you were getting at, but I don't asssume things when it's not clear.

Unless you want to upgrade to adjustable aftermarket parts (toe bolt, camber arms) you are good with just replacing the shocks/struts. Since you are in there compression rod bushings, but you already mentioned that.

I think you're overreacting a bit.

I simply stated what I observed. That was indeed a poorly constructed run-on sentence. I don't see how you can misconstrue that as over reacting when it wasn't derogatory.
Anyways that's not important, back to the answers that you originally came here for.

I'm interested in installing new Tokico Blue shocks too. I never thought about getting a bushing kit from energy suspension. I'm going to check that out. What else should I look into for replacing at the same time. I'm going to put some front coupe springs to level the car out also.

Thats pretty much it. You wont need a front or rear camber kit, so swap them out and call it a day.
