Another window motor problem..???

So i tried to search the threads and see what i can find, but im running out of time and need to fix my car...I have a 04 G35 coupe and its having problems with the drivers window...not too familiar with this car...the window goes up and down funny, gets stuck and seems to not have enough power to work...it jerks a lot and only seems to work if i hold the switch and pound on the door panel...ive heard a lot of people say its the motor, which is my first thought too....but then i see others talk about the window actuator....Please help...

thanks,
Paul

sounds like the motor is going. Mine did that for a while before it "died". I took the door apart and cleaned it, now it works perfectly.

When i bought my 06 it had 1 ground from body to block and this is supposed to run the whole car WTF!!! Now i have 8GA car stereo power cable with 5 different points on the block and 11 places on the body, both fenders and 2 at ECM behind the glove box. All ends are soldered to plated crimps (6GA 5/16) this means you fold the 8GA wire and you cab run all of it without cutting the cable. Anymore explaining won't help i'll get pics and post. The spot behind the glove box is also injector ground.

That's because a single ground avoids harmful ground loops. This is proper wiring methodology.

Ground loops are caused when two grounded points in the same circuit have different potentials. In other words, your spark plugs fire by voltage passing through the coils and into the engine block, which should have ONE ground. That's proper wiring method. When you have multiple block grounds, chances are 1 or more have a different potential than the other due to a poor connection, corroded connector, etc. This difference in potential results in stray, or unwanted voltage traveling elsewhere and creating essentially electrical "noise" which can potentially be harmful. In other words, you have 12 volts firing through a spark plug, you want that voltage to continue through the block, to a single wire and continue to the chassis in one continuous loop. If you have multiple grounds, now you have part of the voltage goind through one ground, and part of it going thru another ground. You can also create large voltage drops under load if the potential is even greater (ie grounding a similar circuit to the chassis and battery together)

Technically speaking, a single GOOD ground wire is more effective than multiple grounds, and eliminates the stray voltage issues associated with ground loops and creates a "clean" electrical system. Grounding the engine in multiple different places is useless as the entire engine block (and attached transmission) are technically at the same electrical potential and increases the likelyhood of ground loops occuring. All the sensors, coils, etc ground out to the engine block, or have their own dedicated grounds in the vehicle wiring and are isolated from the block. Therefore, all you need is ONE single GOOD ground and that's it.

There is such a thing as overgrounding. You might notice "improvements" when running multiple grounds, but you can't see the stray voltage effect it creates either which can be harmful interference to various electrical components.

mustang5L5 you must be an engineer? you can only think on paper did you try it grounds, no your to smart for that my car will do 0-60 in under 5 sec no mods put that in your pipe and smoke it. Sometimes you have to throw logic out the window and just do it!!!!!!!!!!!!! I said i would post and i will wait till you see how fast my windows go up and down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*sigh* I don't know why i even bother sometimes

The irony of the "only think on paper" remark. You assume way to much.

You have a hell of a way introducing yourself, please learn some tact and respect and use them. Since you seem to have relatively little of either I don't trust a word that comes out of your immature little mouth. Grow up quick or GTFO. And if you're trying to say you have a sub 5 second stock G...
