spacers is not an issue unique to AWD. It has more to do with what size wheel and tire, as well as the offset of the wheel. You need to determine your desired offset and buy spacers accordingly. RWD guys should be able to help you on this one as well

The rears will fit, the front wont. Two different mounting points. Sorry you should return the blues.

I hate to sound like a noob but I need a definite answer for my buddies 06' G35x, he recently got a flat tire in the right rear wheel and that tire cannot be repaired since the hole is in the sidewall. So the question is can he just replace 2 rear tires as opposed to all 4?

I told him he should be fine because the car is 4WD not AWD, but I just need to make sure. Thanks in advance!

As long as the new ones will be the same size I don't see why not.

I forgot to mention that he's buying his tires from a used tire shop so they might not have the exact same tires. Also I figured tire wear might be an issue lets say for example the rear wheels have less tread on them therefore the wheels would be spinning slightly faster. Wouldn't that cause the 4WD to kick in and possibly make it run at all times or more often than it should?

I agree with not using 4 different tires but I am running different brand fronts and rears but with the same sizes and I don't have any problems with my X.

Would a wheel with certain specs and offsets on the rwd look the same on the awd?

Just a heads up. Sorry to be slow on the comeback.

The key phrase here is "with the same sizes." Sure it would be fine if you have different brands same size front and back as long as the wear on the tires is the same.

My understanding from your description of the issue is that he wanted to keep worn fronts and put new rears on. That means even if the sidewall says they are the same size, they are not the same outside diameter due to the wear on the fronts.

And that's a problem with the AWD. It is my understanding that will put extra strain on the transfer case as the sensors detect different rotational speeds.
