It's still not painted, so I'm really putting the cart before the horse talking about badging lol.

Although, I'm agreeing so far, I like how it looks bare, and I suspect it will stay that way. I think I'll keep the little G35 over under the tailight though. The 350GT emblem is calling me for that location to some extent, I'm trying to fend that little temptation off.

I understand the latch issue. Just center the decklid best you can and even the gaps by Sanding down the edges of the decklid with some 80 grit. On the corner sticking out I was referring to the bottom right corner by bumper. Mine was sticking out bout 1/4" due to the mold being off

That's odd, mines the other way around, it's the left side that's off (driver side)

How did your correct it, just with the hinges?

Since it was the mold bein off there is no fix unless you break the deck lid and refiber. All my other gaps were fine so there was no middle ground

Any pics?

So youre saying you left the bit poking out in favour of gaps in the rear that were more equal?

That's pretty much where I am with the HikkataDori. It's good enough already, I'm done at this point.
The only thing I've noticed, it looks like some of the bumpers are a little inconsistent on how far they "poke" out right under the taillights by the bottom corner of the deck lid. I've more than once seen what would be considered "bad fitment" on OEM.

No that trunks not made by VIS it's ours. I had VIS' guy do the work tho. I'm about to smack my lazy fabricator's *** over the head so to make sure it's up to the OP's standard of quality I asked VIS if I can have their guys make the trunk for me.

As I explained to the OP we do a lot of work with VIS =) and as far as I'm concerned they're the Trunk and Hood experts in this industry =)

The reason why I don't like making hoods or trunks is the amount of work and R&D you need to do. I did a E92/90 M3 Hood once and it took about 3 molds before I got perfectly right. (and I mean perfect) it's just a PITA to do. By the time I'm done I was ready to sell the hood at $1,800 carbonfiber. =\ The HikkataDori trunk I had nothing to do with it was completely with my partner and Kris/Veronica but the trunk was made in one shot. Meaning no revisions just first plug and mold. Which IMO is pretty darn good.

But yeah TunerMax, great customer A++, it was a pleasure =) Now get that thing painted =P

Edit: to anyone interested there's 3 more trunks sitting here made the same way as OP's trunk lol. I had a few extra made..

I thought they did one revision?
Mine is actually one of the prototypes, so I wouldn't expect fitment to be perfect.

Negative only one mold has been made for HD trunk for sure. with a mold you can do some sanding and cutting but thats it. not much can be done.. well it can but its more work.. it usually ends up to being one of those 'saving a lost cause' deals..

either that or im just bad with it but yeah..

Thanks for chiming in Eric, I didn't even know about the different circumstances you went through, much appreciated! Talk about going the extra mile bro, that's awesome.

I've been swamped and nothing's changed on this thing, the car's been parked. Next week is going to be even crazier, so I doubt I'll get this thing alligned, sanded and painted any time this week. Maybe next weekend.....

It would probably help if I wasn't bouncing between so many bloody projects on this car....

Quote: Got 2 primer coats on today, but I think I'll be re-sanding everything again and re-painting, the primer brought out a few scratches in the trunk, as it always does. No biggie.

It is nice to have it black at least, solidified the question about re-badging, I'll be doing it for sure. Probably just the INFINITI across the centerline, and I'll be getting those letters done in Black Chrome

Car's filthy:

That came out good man. It definitely looks good so far.

Front camber adjustable control arms are SPC, rear toe bolts and rear camber arms are Ichiba.
