Purchased new front crossed drilled rotors for my Brembos from R1 concepts because I had a shake while braking. Installed the new rotors but kept the same pads because they were practically new and still had the same steering wheel shake. R1 concepts sent me new rotors because I thought the ones they sent were defected, recieved a new set rotors under warranty and still have a damn shake. Just put in new stoptech pads and the shake got even worse, the entire car shakes viciously when applying the brakes.

Noticing pad marks on the rotors, front and rear. Can this be brake judder, warped rotors, etc...? Don't know what to do next, would hate to blow more money on pads and rotors.

It sounds like your calipers might be bad. If the new brakepads you put on are better than your last ones the increased stopping power could make whichever caliper is bad negatively effect your braking even more. I had a similar problem on my last car the front left caliper was bad so it would apply different pressure than the other 3 and cause it to shudder when I was slowing down. It caused the rotor to wear much faster than the others and when I replaced pad and rotor it didn't fix the problem.

This is a guess though. Does your car pull to one side or the other if you slow down at speed?

The car doesn't pull to one side when I apply the brakes. I have been noticing some creaking coming from one of my calipers when I pump the brakes at idle, sounds like an old door.

You said you only got the front rotors, so it could be the rears causing the shake as well. I had a bad shudder when braking, so I replaced all 4 rotors and 8 pads and the shaking stopped.

Right, I've been wanting to change the rears but since my steering was shaking I figuRed I would do the fronts first. Very frustrating , not enjoying driving the car.

I have an 04x also and experience the same thing. My rear calipers are shot and It is only applying pressure to one side of the brake pads. I believe my front ones my be bad also.

It's probably the rear rotors.. This happened to me about 4 months ago. I changed the front rotors but the vigorous shaking was still there when i applied the brakes..

So i decided to change the rear rotors about a week later and the shaking stopped completely..

I was also surprised to discover that it was the rear rotors and not the front one's that caused the shaking

Rear rotors get chewed up by the VDC...
