Why I did not buy a new G or Q50

After owning almost ten years of G35X and almost 10 years with this forum, I finally traded the G for a 2014 Mazda 6 grand touring a few weeks ago. I want to thank everyone in this great forum. I have learned a lot and have contributed also. My goal in this thread is not to talk about the Mazda, there is no place for it in this forum, but why I did not consider buying another Infiniti.
The Q50 is no longer a driver's car, but a car with tech and luxury, and along with that a price to match! Heck, a loaded one can exceed 50K, a far cry from my old G. The Q never received any good review from all the car magazines. My old G has reached its limits for me. Keeping it for anther 6 to 12 months would not be a good decision. My best wishes to this great forum and its members!

If the goal was to stay in the same price segment as your last car, then I can sort of understand the choice.
I went onto a G8GT. RWD V8, 6sp auto, LSD rear, IRS.

here's what Jalopnik has to say about the Q50:
But the Q50's biggest problem is that unfortunately, it's just not that much fun to drive. On paper, it should be. It's got plenty of power. It handles well enough, staying flat and keeping body roll to a minimum during back road shenanigans. The issue is that this isn't a car that makes you ever want to engage in back road shenanigans at all.
Sure, it looks cool, it's rather nice to sit in, it's remarkably well-equipped it's and a dream sedan for any gadget lover. But due to the lack of low-end torque, the unwilling-to-perform automatic gearbox, computer-simulated sport steering, its too-quiet engine, and maybe even a lack of soul, the Q50 is never going to be a car you look forward to hooning. It's not a car that makes you want to take the long, twisty way home from work.
Infiniti nailed the tech. They just didn't add enough testosterone.
I can tell you from owning a G for 2.5 years; its always made me want to do some hooning or at least take the long way back home. I'll always remember the G as having a lot of soul and character.
With the newer models its lost a bit of that. If I wanted as much luxury as the Q50 then I'd go elsewhere.

My wife wants a new car and she really likes the new Q50..it looks really nice!! but, the price is close to 50k for a S model..thats crazyyy !!!! I would do up to 40k for it. In that price range I'd rather get a 1 or 2 year old used lexus gs350 F sport or bmw 535i M sport.
I'm getting the 2015 myself later this year...I'll still have my 04 G for a while tho..
