Hello all,

I just joined the forum after purchasing a 2003 G35 garnet fire sedan from a family friend this morning. I used to own a 2004 daytona blue 350z that I wound up trading for a GTO and missing the car. My daily got totaled on the highway on the ice a few weeks ago, so I began looking for something new and I wound up getting a surprising call from my wife's grandfather that a friend of his had a car for sale for $2500 that she only drove to work as a school teacher and to meetings in St. Louis. When I meet him to look at it, I find that it is a G35 sport sedan that is in immaculate condition. The car has 204,000 miles just had the timing chain, water pump, brakes, rotors, hubs and control arm bushings replaced. Knowing the owner of the car's husband, I knew that he was someone that takes care of his cars, so I took the car for a test drive letting me borrow the car for a day. The car drove terrific and the only problem I found on the car having it looked over was the power windows when rolled up with auto will drop back down 1/4 of the way. Thankfully reading on here I found how to fix this be resetting the motor.

I'm excited to have a car in this platform again because they are not only beautiful, but they are a thrill to drive. I would love to do some mods to the car, but at 204,000 I'm weary on what to do other than suspension and intake/exhaust. I told the wife, should the motor blow tomorrow the car was still a steal for what I paid for it and if worse comes to worse I can do an engine swap.

Welcome - great and helpful folks here, i'm relatively new as well and found a vast amount of info.
I would suggest getting the FSM for the G - it was suggested to me when i joined

Congrats on the new car! Looks fantastic. As the person above me said, immaculate interior is always a good sign of the car's health. Sounds like you're on your way to years of trouble free ownership.

If you're really concerned, head over to the local Nissan dealership and have a bumper to bumper inspection done.
