350z de motor swap into g35

I am having problems with my swap. I put my 350z motor into my g35. They are both 03 de non revup. When we started the g35 it had p0300 random is fire code and it pop every 5 sec at idle. I didn’t not swap the wire harness because I was told everything was the same. I would appreciate help.

My guess would be you have a couple of coil pack harnesses crossed.

Yeah I second the crossed coil packs, however if you had the flywheel removed and didn't properly align it's alignment pin up to the hole on the crankshaft then that may be the issue. The flywheel/flexplate can only install in ONE specific orientation for the engine to work.

There's a little dowel/divet mark on the flywheel that lines up with the empty hole on the crankshaft.

Thanks for the feedback I will try that out. All connectors should be the same correct?

I had changed the clutch and fly wheel on the 350z 400 miles ago and it was running great. I don’t exactly think it’s the flywheel. Thank you.

For the coil packs? Yes. And I forget what side, but I remember one side has 2 connections that are close together and easily mistaken for one another.

Yes the harnesses are all the same but an easy identifier is one wire on each coil pack is a different COLOR (the one that goes back to the ECM). That color can be cross referenced against the wiring schematic in the FSM.

Cyl1 - yellow/red stripe
Cyl3 - blue/red stripe
Cyl5 - purple/white stripe

Cyl2 - green/red stripe
Cyl4 - grey
Cyl6 - grey/red stripe
