2006 G35 6MT has a 'ding' when starting in 1st?
Help please? I have a 2006 G35 6MT sedan with 113,000 or so miles. New clutch and added Sony deck so I can get apple car play. For some reason when I start in first gear, there's a "ding" sound that doesn't happen in any other gear? Any ideas what it might be?
It doesn't sound mechanical; it does sound like it is coming from the sound system. Any insight would be most welcome!
When I exceed the posted speed limit I also get a ding.
I love the dings and I love my Tesla.
Sorry that I am no help to you. I had a previous 2006 G35 6 speed but traded it in at 171796 miles over 10 years ago. It had no dings.
If you haven't tried autopilot you will be blown away with the AI in the Tesla. When on autopilot, when a vehicle in front of you slows down or stops for a red light the Tesla will automatically slow down and stop if the vehicle in front of you stops. It will automatically start moving again and resume the previous set speed when the vehicle in front of you begins to move again. It brakes more suddenly than anyone not on autopilot utilizing regenerative braking so it takes some getting used to. It scares the shyt out of the wife and any passengers but I trust it.You just have to remember if on autopilot and no vehicles are in front of you it will not stop for a red light. That option requires FSD (Full Self Driving) which is a $15k option. I don't think I am ready to trust that yet.
The service manager at my local Infiniti dealer now has two Tesla's.He gave me lots of good info and advice prior to my purchase.
I think you should just place an order.
Check out what is available in your state. No NJ sales tax or state inspection here and a $1500 utility rebate is available to cover the charger installation.Trending Topics
I've tried both the autopilot and the FSD beta, my only complaint about the autopilot is how weird the steering wheel feels as it's making all those micro adjustments while driving on curvy roads.
I'm definitely not going to get a Tesla anytime soon, biggest issue is the winter driving since most of our roads out where I live aren't plowed, not sure how it would handle 10"-15" of snow
I already have one car that can't be driven in the winter, rest of the fleet is AWD or 4WD.
