Worn Out Rear Brake Pads at 5,000 miles!?

I bought a CAI and muffler from Stillen Racing about 6 months ago and by doing so put me on their mailing lists. Today I received an e-mail from them saying that the 350Z and G35 coupe have been reporting worn rear pads in as little as 5,000 miles. Naturally Stillen is offering better than OEM replacements. Whether you have a coupe or sedan, sounds like it is worth keeping a close eye on the condition of the brakes. Ken

They make a good product as far as I know, but I wonder how their B/pads are for keeping the dust problem down.
That's strange that the rear pads are wearing out quick too. That shouldn't happen since most of the braking is done by the fronts.....

Re: Worn Out Rear Brake Pads at 5,000 miles!?

i put the stillen metal matrix on all four corners of my 5at sedan. So far the dust is greatly reduced. We will see how they do on the track next month.

I have gone thru 2 sets of front and 6 sets of rear and have 11k miles on the car. I have gone to the track for a total of 1000 track miles). Also I cracked (2 places all the way thru the rotor) a set of rear crossed drilled and slotted stillen rotors. I am mailing them back tomorrow to see if they get replaced for free (yeah right).

I've got 9200 and my pads/rotors "look great" I don't know why some people are getting such a difference. It can't just be driving style.

I have stillen slotted rotors ad they seem to be doing great so far......The only problem is that the breakin period sucks.....I still have a whine in them untill the pads get broken in better....

The sky is the limit
