Hey guys, first off just wanted to say you guys are running an excellent site, keep up the good work. Second of all my brother (21) just bought a brand new 2005 G35x sedan, Diamond Graphite, premium package/navi. It has stone leather with alluminum trim and the new chrome wheels. I have had a little bit of experience with g35's. My best friend has G35 coupe 6 speed manual and she's a beauty. Any who the sedan is awesome to drive, we drove off the lot with only 8 miles on it. The car is strong and the sound beats out the Bose system in it. I myself am 19, I own a 1998 Ford Contour SVT, she's my baby and also my sleeper car cause probably half you guys dont really know what a contour svt is. All in all just wanted to say Hi to you all I'll try not the act like n00b because I know how you search ****'s are. I'm an active person at our very own www.contour.org so I know how all this works

See you guys around boards..

btw, my brother hates these kinds of forums so thats why Im doing this for him..

LOL, Welcome Goonz SVT, I know what the SVT Contour is.... I didn't own one but had a few Contour V-6's and loved them all.
Kudos for your SVT...

Your bro's 'X' is a great ride. Tell him to log in here. He'll like us, and we'll treat him right.

C.

yepp...except its diamond graphite, here it is (was) at the lot, now its in our garage all sparkly and shiney

but yea thanks guys, I'm not at all familiar with the Nissan/Infiniti 3.5L V6 but I know for a fact its an awesome engine. Im hoping my brother wont have any problems with it, although adjusting to the navi for him maybe quite tricky but he'll get it.

As for my car, she is at 118k miles, mods include Custom Cougars CAI, Borla-Catback...tinted windows and etc..the stock motor is the 2.5L V6 as many of you know. However I love my car too much to just get rid of it so I just recently had a 3.0L (Duratec Motor) prepped for my car along with Torsen LSD. I'm gonna be putting that in and dont be surprised about this 3.0L swap. It is very common amongst us Contour people. Actually its cheaper to just get a 3L then the regular stock 2.5L. But yea, I keep my car ulta-sleeperfied

never been to the track, never beatin on it, never ever have I done a burnout..fastest ive gone in it without any hesitation..120mph (closed circuit)

I'm a *****, I know

Gee I feel really stupid. Here I worked my a$$ off to get a house and finally at the mature age of 44, I finally bought (on terms - I might add) my dream car a wonderful '04 G35X.

I'm not bitter. I'm really in amazement. Goonz_SVT has a '98 SVT (I liked those too, BTW) and his 21 y.o. brother has a 05 G35X w/ premium AND navi. HUH, chrome wheels too.

Okay, I'm going to polish off a bottle of champagne in your guys honor. Be good to your cars guys, you're living something special.

Cale

I think I know a thing or two about CSVT's. 2nd pic was when it went autoxing, 3rd is on the flatbed after the tranny grenaded autoxing! It's all good though - Terry Haines rebuilt it along with the Quaiffe LSD that then went in. Even though I sold it, it's still in the CEG family.

I had a Taurus SHO and considered a Contour SVT back before we bought our 2000 Eclipse. Kinda glad we didn't. Had we bought the SVT, we wouldn't had the oppurtunity to realize how impractical the coupe was which allowed us to trade it off to get our G.

I know you love your Contour but you got to face facts. Its FWD and you can only squeeze so much from a 3L motor. Your going to be envious of your bro's G and the fact that right now you can pick up a used 03.5 6MT for about $24000. I forsee that you will be jumpin into a G before you know it.

thanks man and doont feel bad, I bought my car myself and my brother just graduated as a Chemical Engineer and got a job at Wyeth..my brother is one of the few lucky ones in his class that actually got a job. He got offered an excellent package, he wanted a new car so he got the g35x. He told me on our way back from the dealership that this was what he worked hard for in school, so that he can buy these type of toys for himself so yea, mommy and daddy had no say nor a single penny in this

I had a Contour SVT - loved that car. I bought it when I was in college a few years ago. Not too fast, but great handling, all things considered.

Ha ... love the SVT Contour! Almost bought one as my first "grown up" car after I'd been working for a few years. Sat in a Ford dealership in Huntington Beach and negotiated for 2 hours with a sales rep who couldn't get off the "what do you want your monthly payments to be?" lines. At the time, a new one was just a bit too rich for my blood, so I grabbed a used lease-return Maxima and loved every second with that car.
