I finally found it!

Since doing my sound insulation project, I've had this PITA vibration noise that I couldn't find.

I think it's always been there, it's just that I can hear it better now that the car
is so much better insulated.

I could have sworn the noise was from the dash.
I've evan tried to triangulate the source with the aid of a passenger.
They also thought it was in the dash.

Well, yesteday while driving a road with a rough surface (noise going big time),
I happened to reach up to adjust the mirror. BINGO

I guess the sound was reflecting down off of the windshield, making it sound like it was from the dash.

Nice. Are you going to do anything to the mirror to eliminate the buzz, or is it gone when you move the mirror into a new position? I had the exact same problem in my coupe, I thought it was the dash too but the guy at the dealership (luckily) knew it was the mirror. They replaced my mirror and it went away.

I also have a buzz that I thought was the sunroof. I can't wait to see if it's the mirror. I also have a shake in the interior mirror when it's hot in the car, like when the cat stands in the sun for a few hours. After the A/C works for a few minutes the shake goes away. Dealer said they couldn't make it do it. Hmmmmmm. Maybe these issues are related. Thanks inTgr8r!

Hey, I live in NJ now, but I'm from Montreal, eh?

I'm going to have a look myself, should be pretty easy to fix.
The slightest touch stops the buzz

The funny thing is when I've got the sub turned up the mirror vibrates but no noise

I know what that's like. The rattle I thought was coming from my passenger door panel, was actually coming from the window.

I have what I think is a door panel rattle too, so I'm going to check the mirror.
