stock '05 G vs. stock '05 STI
03' 350Z with bolt-ons running down the 1/4.... Intake, plenum, crank pulley, test-pipes, exhaust, ecu runs 13.13
Hmmm, Same web page states a stock STI running 13.249 @ 99.7mph
I have seen some street start times (5mph-60mph) in the 6.2 range for the STI, I wasn't able to find the same for a G35, anyone help me out? How about 30-50mph? I remember seeing 12.1 for the STI.
Lets see some of those times if you have them.

From a 5mph roll, there would be absolutely no difference in the way both these cars would accelerate. That's the point we're trying to make about the STi. If you take away it's AWD launch, it doesn't have the power to out muscle a 6MT G35 from a roll.
A simple search of Google reveals that the curb weight (ie wet weight) of a Subaru WR STI is 3,260-3,270lbs. The 03/04 sedans with autos weighed in at 3,340lb and the 6MTs at about 35lbs more. The coupe weighs an additional 70lbs more than the sedan. The X weighs an additional 220lbs more. The 05 G35s gained about 110-120lbs.

Still though, congrats to the kill at the top of the thread.

I can guarentee you that properly launched STi will not only smoke a G35 5AT/6MT in the 1/4, it will smoke a Corvette Z06 from 0-50mph.
My friend had an 04 STi and it ran 13.3-13.4@100-101mph with high 1.7 60 foots. 1.7 60 foots is what LS1 F-Bodies pull on slicks. My 5AT can only pull high 2.1 60 foots (which is better than most on this site) at best and his STi typically ripped 1.7-1.8s assuming he launched at 5500rpms and dumped the clutch. If he launched normal (2500-3000rpms), he would get lower 2.2 60 foots and 14.2-14.3@99-100mph. From a roll, his STi was barely faster than my 5AT. As speeds approached 100mph, he wasn't pulling and I swear I was closing in on him. The STi is all about the AWD launch. Without it, it's not that quick.

And a properly launched z06 will run a high 11 bone stock, which will smoke your STI. Apples to apples please.

You are a embarrassment and now that you can't even spell it right, I would think no one would listen to you. Btw, that is right, you are new to the Infiniti / Nissan side of the G35. So please until you learn more about the car do not make misinformed comments like you have been.
Sorry but you are the idiotic owner here. You have YET to prove me wrong. I have provided ENOUGH backing to prove you and the others wrong here on multiple subjects.
If you don't think we can handle a STI, then your wrong. I proved that YET AGAIN.
I am done here. I am surprised how many idiotic people we have on this forum as of late that have no clue what they are talking about.

Can you answer this question....... have YOU raced an STI?????? A simple yes or no will do with the outcome..........

Funny how one loses credibility points when they misspell "Infiniti" as "Infinity".
This DP03 guy is delusional if he thinks his X will run with a G35, from a roll, stop, whatever.
And in the real world, the race doesn't always start from or a stop or end at a quarter mile.
Why is it so shocking that the OP kept up with an STI? The cars are not THAT much faster first of all (most of the advantage is from the AWD launch). Also, the STI will have more variance in performance (Turbo sucks in hot weather).

"DUMB" is responding to this thread twice, apparently misreading or misinterpreting what was quoted (twice), and making no sense in either one of them.

He's not slamming his grammar. He's slamming his inability to correctly spell the make of his own car.

From a stop, no problem. From a roll, no.

True.

Spelling and grammar are two different things.
Now go away troll.
DP03, your argument would make sense if the race was from a stop to about 100 ft (I'm exaggerating here). In any normal race on the street (which is usually on the highway, or at a long straight backroad @ a stoplight), you'd get smoked by any G35.
And no, STIs are not much faster. A Z06 is much faster. An Audi RS4 is much faster. STI...a 'little' faster.
