tire rack sent me bad tires?

I received 4 Avon Tech M550 A/S 235/50/17's.
Infiniti put them on but after we got road vibrations in steering wheel took it back to check balance.
Infiniti says "tires on right side...have RFV on excess of 20 lbs. Forced match tires but unable to get RFV below 20+/-lbs. Rebalanced all tires 5 grams or less."
What?
Any help?
I hope tire rack is ready to exchange tires that have already hit the road...

Thanx

It happens on occassion. I would not anticipate that you will have any problems with T.R. replacing defective tires asap

Thanks for the reply.
I am assuming Tire Rack is reputable enough to refund me somehow.

What is "RFV on excess of 20 lbs"?

These tires (or "tyres") are directional. Are any backwards?

This is becoming a common complaint with Avon tires. They seem to have some quality control problems.

+1 on that -- do a search and you'll find a few owners with similar problems with Avon tires. One owner had 3 out of 4 tires that were out of round.

you have experienced the problem i had with my avon tires. could not balance them for shi#. tire rack replaced the first bad tire and then after they all were disacovered to be out of spec, they offered me a new set of another brand and a full refund on the original set.

i put a set of bridgestone turanza ls-v's on and i love them. they are broken in with about 1300 miles on them and feel better every time i take them on the highway at speeds in the triple digit range. balance well, grip well, and are very, very quiet on my '05 sedan. i recommend them as an alternative to the avon tech m550 all season tire.

tire rack is excellent in the customer service arena. don't worry about them.

I agree. Avon does have this problem.
