The trunk changed from the doggie-door style (03) to the smooth style with only the name/logo on it (03.5). I have an 03 and, when I got it, there was just a blank filler between the VDC on/off button and the display brightness ****. There was also just a blank filler on the passenger side power outlet/cubby panel. I've since added both the internal trunk release and the passenger-side outlet. I think those were the only differences between the 03/03.5: trunk style, trunk release, passenger-side power outlet.

There are two 2003 AT Sedan Models covered in the Factory Service Manual. Here are the VIN Numbers for the Type 1 and Type 2 cars.
Type 1 = From serial #000001 through 099999 to serial 329287 except for 327918, 327920, 327976, 327978, 328979, 329004, 329025, 329078.
Type 2 = For serial 327918, 327920, 327976, 327978, 328979, 329004, 329025, 329078 and from serial 329288 on.
While I've only seen a couple of Type 1 - 300000 serial numbered cars, they looked like Type 2 cars cosmetically but were Type 1 under the skin.
