Brake warranty (FYI: Ramsey Infiniti is alright)

My wife's 2005 G35x was at the dealer at 9000 miles for squealing brakes.

They replaced the rear pads and resurfaced the rotors. The very next day they started squealing again. We called to advise them, but were too busy to bring it in at that time.

When we made the appointment last week the car had 11800 miles. Now it has 12100 miles and was just at the dealer to have the issue looked at again. Now they are claiming the front brakes that were fine 3000 miles ago are at 3mm and the rotors need resurfacing. They said the rear are at 7mm and ok.

They want $335.00 as the brakes are only covered for the first 12,000 miles.
What a bunch of c*nts over 100 miles extra.

Do not deal with Ramsey Infiniti in Ramsey NJ. Their service manager is on vacation and will call us Monday. We shall see.

cliff notes: g35 brakes suck and Ramsey Infiniti is ok I guess..

"My wife's 2005 G35x"

Which is BS also as the "X" has the old brakes still for 2005.

I brought my 2005 G35x with 13k miles into Inskip Infiniti this past week because my brakes were squealing something awful. They resurfaced the rotors last month but that did nothing to solve the problem. I spoke with the service manager and he said they had a new chemical they could use on them, and low and behold, the noise level went from 9/10 to 1/10. They also resurfaced the rotors again.

I appreciated the concern they took with me. They kept the car for two days and gave me a loaner as they tried to fix the issue. It's unfortunate that our model car has this problem. I only hope the minimized brake squeal stays that way and it's not a temporary fix.

And oh, no charge for any of this.

Dude..that sucks.....that's complete BS that they won't honor your mileage with the fact that you were just there. Isn't is it amazing how INCOMPETENT people are!? You best get this resolved w/ the manager...that ain't right!

Most dealers are informed by their manufacturers warranty departments not to "Upsell" warranty work, ie if you didn't complain about it...they will not tell you about it.

I just took my 2005 G35X to the dealer for 15,000 mile service and to check out my squealing front brakes. I'm told that I need new pads and rotors. I'm told that even though the '05 & 06s have different front brakes than the '03 & 04s there are still problems with the front brakes. Infiniti extended the brake warranty for the '03s and '04's but not the '05s and 06s. Both the dealer and Infiniti customer service said that enough people complain the brake warranty might be extended to cover the '05 and '06 model year.
Please complain to Infinity customer service at 800-662-6200.

OK Fubsy, I just did my part and called Infiniti Customer Service. He said that squeals are "normal" for these "high-performance" brakes, but he said if enough people complained maybe they would do something about extending the brake program for us.

They should still honor the warranty as you complained and even made the appoitment before the mileage portion was up. You should make that very clear to the dealer.

Wrong, it's only the '05 X that has the old brakes, the '06 X has the bigger brakes, not sure why Infiniti let that slip on the '05 since they did change the brakes on the sedan for '05.

This is all very disappointing. Well... I'm just going to keep following the maintenance guide given to me by Infiniti. I'm not dropping a dime on their flaws.
