Thanks for the info Mike. It sounds like transferring music to the HD may be more of a PITA than we thought.

Tomorrow is the BIG night for you....woohoo!!

It probably has something to do with copyright issues. It's going to take forever to transfer from my computer to the HD!

I guess I'll just have to buy a bunch of high capacity CF cards. Man, now I own almost everything: SmartMedia, SD, Memorystick, now CF.... Bleh.

I am not sure about the 07s, but the current models do not......or at least the 03s do not. I tried using a CD-RW a couple of years ago and it wouldn't read it.

Hey MH, do you know what the maximum capacity of the CF card is accepted? Someone brought up 4GB. With the system only ripping off audio CDs, I'll just store my MP3s on CF cards. Probably easier to manager than using the onboard display.

Also, do we have to listen to the audio CD in order for it to be ripped, or is there a function where I can just put the CD in for a few minutes and let it rip from start to finish?

Hey...I am back. Accidentally revved to almost 6000...but what a feeling. I promise not to rip again until 2000km.

Anyway, I DON'T have Navi, so no HD and no CF slot either. Sorry can't help you there.

However, If I were you, I will just stick to mp3 CDs. After all there are 6 CDs to store your mp3s. I am sure you won't have to change them for weeks. Even with most of my mp3s at 192kbps, there should be 500 minutes worth of music per CD. Do the math, and you will not miss the HD at all.

The manual says that an Compact Flash adapter may be used to accept other media.

It says, " CD's without mp3/WMA files, Hybrid CD-DA, CD-DA "discs can be used.

******** CORRECTION from last page: - "The optional in-trunk CD changer cannot record music to the Hard Disk."

So, just to make sure I understand Mike.....the ONLY way to burn music to the HD is via the in-dash CD player AND it can only be in audio CD format (no MP3 CDs). Is that correct?
