I'd say it is simple......different eyes see different things.

Well my eyes actually see two different things.

The yellowish aluminum Ian posted up and the silver trim on numerous other '07 trim posts. Very odd indeed.

Sorry about the late reply...can't access the site at work.

Actually I am picking it up on October 23...in 3 days. So excited!!!

The sales guy did mention about the release night on October 25, but I could pick that up before the date and give them some free publicity

How are you guys picking up your cars so soon without official prices even being out? Unless Infiniti's planning on releasing official pricing on the 25th / 26th?

Canadian Dealerships all got their pricing on September 28 at their own unveiling in Whistler BC. I got the MSRP price and my discount price as well as my lease payments, My deposit and my Final Bill of Sale the following week.

I am not sure why the US dealers have no pricing info...

Couldn't be this easy, but we can't just take your prices and divide it by 1.12661 to get the US prices, right? From what I've seen, I get the feeling you pay more than simply the currency exchange, am I right? i.e. 10k USD car is not 11,266.10, it's maybe 13 or something?

I remember being at the CNE back in 1996, and seeing a Lincoln for 58k. I nearly had a heart attack, and I wasn't even 30 yet! Then I realized that 58k was Canadian $. Probably was around 1.37 at the time. We were loving life when it was 1.61...gosh I miss those trips to Montreal!

I really really wish it was that simple. I would be paying a lot less for my G if that was the case.

^exactly. We are really getting hammered right now on most makes and models of cars. GM is the only one less expensive in Canada. The average is 19% more after factoring in the exchange. Generally the more expensive the vehicle the more the premium. On a 911 for example the difference is about 40%. I would forgo the warranty and buy in the US if I were in that market. You could do a lot of warranty work for $40k+.

I didn't know the average was 19% more Deane, that kinda makes you sick doesn't it?

^Yep. Apparently there was a time years ago when it was cheaper here but we never seem to remember that. The pendulum is at the other end now but is reported to start swinging back a little closer over the next number of years.

Wouldn't the Canadian pricing have to do with how we are against the YEN not the US $? I still believe we pay too much.

Yes, exactly. However we're comparing the price against the US. Since our currency is weak and ours is strong it's making the price differential greater.

However note that many cars made in Canada are more expensive in Canada than the US even considering the currency differential.

It's not that simple. Cars sell for different amounts in different countries; you can find an examples such that given Car 1 and Car 2 and Country A and Country B... Car 1 is 1.5X the price of Car 2 in country A, but Car 2 is 1.5X the price of Car 1 in Country B....

So currency is actually LESS of the issue than other things.

Well then Canada is paying much more than we should for all cars. I can understand differences but, using BMW prices as an example, CAN vs USA is shocking.

Got another update on my car. Three new G35s arrived at my dealer on Friday, but mine wasn't one of them. My salesman thought mine was in the original shipment. Apparently mine is still at sea and will be here by mid November at the latest. #$%#$@##$@%%!!!!
