Cheers mate.

So far I am really happy about the car, but just a few small issues that I can live with...

1) My Samsung D600 won't work properly with the car. It is not on the support list...but, I guess I could always go back to a Sony Ericsson T610? (That's old school...)

2) The display screen is lovely, but, even though the manual says that it would (or might) display UTF-8 characters (ie. Chinese, Japanese, etc.) it did not display them properly. Most of the mp3 songs I have now show up as _____.mp3. Oh well.

3) Where is the ipod adaptor? The RCA jacks are fine, but, I don't think I would be using that to watch a movie while on the road. The ipod AV cable would work too, but that means I have to control the songs on the ipod, not using the car controls.

I am just nitpicking now...but really it is very nice to drive. I accidentally went over 5000 revs earlier...should have waited after 2000km, break-in period.

I am envious that you have yours already. Unfortunately, I am still waiting for mine to arrive. There is no iPod adapter so you will need to use the AUX ports in your arm rest. You are correct that your songs will not integrate with the vehicle's system and will need to control songs from the iPod directly.

Btw, can you scan every page of the manual and post it??

Thanks for your input. I'll stick with my mp3 CDs for now.

By the way, you should really check with your dealer and see where your Garnet Ember S is. Actually I was going to order this colour, but I was initially told to wait until December or later.

The manual? I wish it was on the inifiniti website. I don't have a scanner, sorry buddy.

If you have some questions I can certainly try to help you out here, but I gotta go out soon. I'll be back tomorrow to answer you OK?

My car is either one of two places right now. Either on a ship on its way over or sitting in Vancouver waiting for the port strike to be over.

Did you get Navi with yours? If you did, and have a compact flash card, I would love to find out if you can rip MP3s to the hard drive from it.

Oh, I was just kidding about scanning the manual. That thing has to be as thick as a Toronto phone book!

^^^ Scan the pages that we care about! And find out if the key fob slot to the left of the steering column actually charges the key fob or not.

Did they give you the VIN#? I would think the dealership can find out where it is, I mean it's important to you, as a courtesy they should be willing to get this info for you imho....

Manuals are funny. I never used to read anything, just like Tim the Tool Man Taylor, wing-it. But I've already downloaded the 328/335 owner's manual and printed it at work. One-sided, it filled up a large (used to be a Lucent Technologies manual before everything was pdf) 3-ring binder! There are all kinds of bizarre features such as residual heat--the car will heat up the cabin for up to 15 min. using residual heat from the motor. I was reading about all the weird configurations of if you want daytime running lamps or not, your driver's door only or the passenger too unlocked with a press on the handle, etc. etc. etc. Cornering lamps too, so many things I've never heard of. Guess we really have to read, as there are so many hidden things now because of technology.

The most interesting was the age-old premium vs. regular gasoline subject. It said premium was "highly recommended." Then it said the 328 needs 87, and the 335 89. Using these lower octanes may cause an audible knocking, which in no way would shorten the life of the motor. Using less than the 87/89 respectively could cause permanent damage to the motor....

So, this is how your mp3's appear when playing them from a CD... Did you get the Nav/MusicBox? I wonder if you'll have the same issue after loading them onto the hard disk if you have nav? This is why I've been wondering if there will be a way to edit song info ie. song/artist/album/genre names once on the hard disk.

That was me driving on Sheppard tonight (6:00pm or so) in case you saw me on the road earlier!
I hope luck runs in the family... because I'm a LEUNG, too!

Congrats on your car!

You mean the D600 won't work with the new G's bluetooth at all, not even for placing a basic phone call? That would really suck, since I just got a new D600 a month ago precisely so that I could use it with bluetooth in my next car...

Ketan, dont' forget that pricing is available up here in Canada. Also, don't let the lack of pricing from Infiniti USA effect your buying decision. You already know what the ballpark price is going to be.....just use 06 pricing. Infiniti stated a long time ago that the increase in price for the 07 will be very minimal, and I can confirm that with CDN pricing. My 07 when compared to an 06 with similiar packages is about $1700 CDN more....so the price difference should be even less in the US. I guess my point is that a $35k G35 Sedan last year is not going to be $45k this year. Just my .02 cents.
