Zaino?

Okay, someone help me out with this one. Is this basically just a wax job? Is it something you do just once to protect the car? Or do you have to do it periodically? What are the benefits of doing it? Should I?

Just go to http://www.zainostore.com it'll explain everything. It's not really a wax, more of a protectant.

Zaino is a line of cleaners , polishes and protectants. You can find out everything here at their site.

Hehe, yeah I saw it and chimed in. I'm a zaino nut, it's a great product and I will be using it again on my new Sedan once it's in.

Likewise about being a Zaino fan, I guess we are part of that Zaino Cult

Well, the 1st time you put it on it's going to be pretty much a full day deal because of having to strip the wax off before you even start with the Zaino.
That said, I feel much better now that I have Zaino on my car than wax. The wax will be gone in 6 weeks and was probably 1/2 gone already just from
the time it took to get from Japan here. The Zaino will last up to a year.

Thanks, you just answered one of my questions - so this incredibly labor-intensive wax job is one or twice a year?

Also, since it sounds like you've done it - I just ordered a Porter Cable, do they really not swirl the clear coat? Am a little paranoid about that...

Also, you can layer zaino, unlike wax, so you can just build the coat and keep adding to the longevity of the protection.

A Porter Cable will remove most swirls and scratches if used properly. Check this out: http://guidetodetailing.com/articles.php?articleId=47
